Chnage of IP for the Samba PDC
We are changing the IP address of our Samba PDC this weekend
(hostname remaining the same). Can anyone confirm (or deny)
that it will not be neccessary for all PC clients to re-join
the domain.

writing an app against a existing database (so no control over column
names), but when there is validation error (e.g. with
validate_presence_of) I would like to customize the field name. For
example for telephone whose field name is PhoneNumber I would like to
chnage it to "Telephone Number cannot be empty" rather than "Phonenumber
cannot be empty". Is that possible?

Transferring Large Files w/ Rsync - Initial Xfer
...have copied the files manually to a usb drive and shipped it to the location where the rsync server is running.
At the remote location I copied the files to a directory which resides on the rsync server and is being pointed to by the module section rsyncd.conf.
The source files have slightly chnaged and I now am trying to sync them. However, it seems that rsync has to copy the entire file itself the first time inorder to build the index (hash) needed in order to have more efficient transfers in the future.
How can I get around this? I am pretty sure my problem is the initial transfer of...

2 questions regarding base-n and identifing digits
Dear listers,
I have two questions:
(1)
Is there a way in R to change the base-n of the calculations. I wnat to run
some calculations either in binary (base-2) or base-4. Is there a way to
specify that in R - to chnage from the decimal?
(2)
I also want to extract the digits from a larger number and store them as a
vector.
I could do it through converting top string, parsing the string and
converting back. Is there another way.
It would look something like that:

dictionary, Ms vision and MSOutlook, but when i want to install it for
exemple Babylone he dependency Internet explorer and when i try to
install ie6 he show me the erro connection. its immasing because i have
internet, its trus i connect to Internet Trough proxy , but when i
chnage my setting network for direct connect, i have the same error

Cannot access the COMMIT CHANGES tab in SWAT
Dear Linux guru's
I am a starter in redhat,i have a problem while configring SAMBA using SWAT.I'm not able to access the COMMIT CHANGES tab in swat which should be close to RESET VALUES and ADVANCED VIEW,to add further i dont even see the COMMIT CHNAGES tab on the screen anywhere,how am i supposed configure samba using swat.I would accept any recommendations.Pls do email me at sanoj200@hotmail.com regarding your troubleshooting suggestions.

Can not rsync certain folders a second time
...rsync: read error: Connection reset by peer (104)
rsync error: error in rsync protocol data stream (code 12) at /home/lapo/packaging/tmp/rsync-2.6.6/io.c(584)
if i delete the files on the nas and run the command again it will copy it but will lock the pc if i attempt a second time once a file has chnaged.
I have run this command of another pc and it still happens, and i even made a windows pc a rsync server without using the nas and i still get a failure.

odbcConnect - no data source and default driver
I am trying to connect sybase sql databast from R using RODBC pkg and
getting the following error ( i chnaged names to my*** but when I actually
execute it, I put down names explicitly not calling some character strings)

Rice coding
Going in details through the FLAC format specification, I realize that there
are 2 rice coding methods now supported for residual encoding. I thought I
remembered in the 1.1.3 times that there was only 1 method (with 4-bit Rice
parameter) [or was I drunk ? ;-)]. Going through the change log, I didn't
find any reference to such an addition to the format.

Mongrel Server error - newbie question.

Trying the configuration in nano.txt
Hi!
(I sent other mails some time ago, about not-using the Julian''s patches).
When I try the configuration from Nano.txt, having the Julian''s
patches applied, only the first ''hop'' of the routing table "222" is
used (according to tables shown in Nano.txt).
