Various FreeBSD bits...
...hacking together. I''ve thought about making
portinstall a "service" and the postinstall a refresh cmd, but that
feels like I''m trying to take a sledge hammer to this problem. What''s
the elegant solution to this? <:~) Thanks in advance. -sc

How often should an encrypted session be rekeyed?
Using OpenSSL, is there a preferred/recommended rate of rekeying an
encrypted stream of data? Does OpenSSL handle this for developers
behind the scenes? Does it even need to be rekeyed?
Thanks in advance. -sc

Exported resources & exec ?
Hi,
I''m sorry if that''s a FAQ, I also know exported resources are a still
experimental. So my problem might well be a design limitation of how
exported resources are working.
My issue: I''m trying to export a file resource that is created by an
exec block. The file is exported fine and collected fine but it is
always empty on the other host.

ATA tag queuing broken...
...me adding a few
cautious words to ata(4) and tuning(7) that advise _against_ the use
of ata tag queuing given that they're likely the fastest way to reboot
a -STABLE box?
Here's a PR that I tacked a tad bit of info into:

January Ruby events in the SF Bay Area
Bosco So has located a promising new venue for the SF Ruby Meetup:
There is WiFi access to the Internet as well as a large plasma
TV/monitor for presentations. In addition to offering caffeine
in various forms, they have sandwiches and desserts. Lastly,
there are lots of dining opportunities nearby for apres-event
chowing.
