Non-standard sorts on vectors
...ign the value:
sort.v$Cover<-test.df$Cover
However, this is inefficient. Is there source code or a syntactical trick
that will do the same more efficiently? Note: I have investigated order()
and sort(), but neither seems to have an argument for defining the sorting
order.
Thanks in advance, Chipper

Using '[' as a function
...es the function know to use the optional(?) argument "1" as the
index location?
- Any other information linking this specific example to the broader R
environment?
Any explanation of how this function works will be a small incremental gain
in my understanding of R, so thanks in advance.

List extraction
...t:
ID stat pvalue
1 Herb 4 0.03
2 Shrub 5 0.04
3 Herb 12 0.20
4 Shrub 15 0.40
5 Tree 13 0.30
I'll forego the question of how to get the list element IDs (i.e., "a", "b")
into the resulting table, unless you have the time....
thank in advance, chipper

why does't the printer name direct the serivce to this printer
...spool/samba
guest ok =Yes
public = Yes
printable = Yes
printer name = deskjet-5700-1
use client driver = Yes
yet when I try to add this printer, cups uses the HP Deskjet 5700 as the printer name,
instead of the deskjet-5700-1
Anybody know why?
Thanks

Linux 2.2.0 and Samba client not happening for me
Dudes and/or Dudettes:
HEEELLLPPP! (such a newbie statement)
I can't get my remote SMB mounts to work on my Linux box.
duke was happily running Slackware Linux 2.0.36 and Samba 1.9.18p8 .
I upgraded to Linux 2.2.0pre9 (2.2.0final), which seemed to require
upgrading to Samba 2.0.0 . (I don't remember the exact errors)
Now i can't get my NT and '95 disks to stay mounted on

[DebugInfo] RFC: Introduce LLVM DI Checker utility
Hi,
I am sharing the proposal [0] which gives a brief introduction for the
implementation of the LLVM DI Checker utility. On a very high level, it
is a pair of LLVM (IR) Passes that check the preservation of the
original debug info in the optimizations. There are options controlling
the passes, that could be invoked from ``clang`` as well as from ``opt``
level.
By testing the utility on the

shutdown -r / shutdown -h / reboot all hang and don't cleanly dismount
Hello -STABLE@,
So I've seen this situation seemingly randomly on a number of both
physical 9.1 boxes as well as VMs for I would say 6-9 months at least.
I finally have a physical box here that reproduces it consistently
that I can reboot easily (ie; not a production/client server).
No matter what I do:
reboot
shutdown -p
shutdown -r
This specific server will stop at "All buffers
