This is a general statistics question so I'm sorry if its outside the field of r help.
Anyway, I have a suite of female and male traits and I have made a matrix of correlation coefficients using rcorr(). This results in a 6 by 6 matrix like this..

New Package FactoClass
new R package FactoClass to combine factorial methods and cluster
analysis is uploaded to CRAN. This package is implemented in order to perform a
multivariate exploration of a data table according to Lebart et al. (1995). We
use some ade4 functions (Chessel et al. 2004) to perform the factorial analysis
of the data and some stats functions in R to perform cluster methods.
Some new functions are programmed to make specific tasks and another old
ones are modified.

Interesting Plot
Hello R Users,
I was at a meeting earlier today, where the figure below was presented.
Does anyone know what this type of plot is called? Is there an R package
designed to generate these?
Regards,
James

PCA and categorical data
Hi all,
I' m trying to figure out if it is appropriate to do a PCA having only categorical data (not ordinal). I have only find the following quote:
One method to find such relationships is to select appropriate variables and
to view the data using a method like Principle Components Analysis (PCA) [4].
This approach gives us a clear picture of the data using KL-plot of the PCA.
However, the

Interpreting canonical correlation (cancor) results
Hi,
from what I understand about the canonical correlation function
'cancor', it looks for correlations in two sets of variables, each
represented in matrix form. Right? Sounds exactly like what I need.
I have tried the following but I am not sure how to interpret the results.
AudioPCs <- c(ArTHarF0PCA$x[,2], ArTHarF1PCA$x[,2], ArTHarF2PCA$x[,2],
ArTHarF3PCA$x[,2],

Difference between two correlation matrices
Hi
Now a more theoretical question. I have two correlation matrices - one
of a set of variables under a particular condition, the other of the
same set of variables under a different condition. Is there a
statistical test I can use to see if these correlation matrices are
"different"?
Thanks

biplot package
Dears,
I've been learning biplot (Gabriel, 1971) and I found the function 'biplot', inside of the package 'stats',
useful but, a bit limited.
So, I'm thinking to start a colaborative package to enhance this methods to other multivariate methods. In this
way, I would like to start it, making public a new function (biplot.pca, still in development, but running)
that make
