I've put the slides from CGO online:

They should be much better than the one from my presentation at EmSoC.

how to change or copy to another the names of models
Hi
I would like to know how I can change the name of a model for each
trainning cycle of a model.
I work with the RSNNS package and to build a neural network, I used :
for (i in 5:30) ....
model_ANN <- mlp(X, Y, size=n,....) # where size is the number of neurons
in the hidden layer
but I need to save each time that the model that is build (the end of each
cycle), e.g., when i = 5, I need to

"labels" attached to variable names
Hi,
Can we attach a more descriptive "label" (I may use the wrong
terminology, which would explain why I found nothing on the FAQ) to
variable names, and later have an easy way to switch to these labels in
plots? I fear this is not possible and one must enter this by hand as
ylab and xlab when making plots.
Thanks in advance,

NEW release of FRAILTYPACK
Dear All,
We are happy to announce, after a long gestation, the release of the new
version of FRAILTYPACK (version 2.2-9.5) which is now available from
CRAN. The package fit general frailty models using penalized likelihood
estimation, for clustered or recurrent events.
For instance :

correlated random effects (intercept

R parser
Hello,
I am actually developping a libary under S+/NT in which I do modify the
.Program.
Is there any equivalent in R?
(the .Program is the command line parser, ie the function which is called
when you press enter and pass the commmand line to the internal program)
TIA

discriminant analysis
Hello.
I have a data base with 50 qualitative variables and a lot of
individuals. I try to estimate the links between one of these variables
(landcover) and the 49 others (geomorphology, hydrography...). I want to
use a "discriminant analysis on qualitative variables" (as DISQUAL in
SPAD) or a " log-linear model ". Which R-Package(s) or other methods can
you advise me.

I have some troubles to modify the "per default" legend in the

R talks at LSM 2007
Dear R users and developers,
Would any of you be interested in giving a lecture about R and/or R
use cases at the following free software conference that takes place
in Amiens, France, next summer?
We already had a talk on R last year by Yves Croissant
(http://2006.rmll.info/theme_26?lang=en) but are still open to any
submission this year.
We expect some talks this year (to be confirmed) about
