MD5 checksum missmatch for bpft4
...ecksum for bpft4 from ports/net/bpft does not matchs the one printed on the sources page at http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/pds.cgi?ports/net/bpft My digests are 3810114b068f438cc7e8e0b1af745953 from top 6 links. Only last ftp://rusunix.org/pub/FreeBSD/distfiles/bpft4-latest.tgz gave the right cheksum - 9bf42e8eabd2de2db1e28dc671651adb. Does it have any relation to "CERT Advisory CA-2003-21" or it's another problem? -- Best regards, Illia mailto:illich@newchem.ru

Nagios purge deleted items and notify nagios service problem
I am using stored configs to manage my nagios host and services checks and I have run into a problem that I have been unable to solve. When the stored configs are purged from puppet the nagios server correctly removes them from the services and hosts file but does not notify the nagios service and instead throws an error. So the entries are still there and nagios still reports on them until

long startup times for large file systems
Howdy, Rsync has been churning away for 45 mins, presumably bulding an in-core list of files to be copied to the destination. This is a very very large filesystem we are copying locally - approximately 4.2million files (WebCT). The resident process size for rsync has grown to 72Mb. - is this normal behaviour for a file system this size, and does rsync have the ability to handle such a large

How rsync works
..., I'm translating the document How rsync works to understand exactly how rsync works when it finds modified files. I'm translating "the sender" and I notice a strange fact. I would like to take an example where a byte is missing in a file. In facts : The generator has created a cheksum for the first file to the sender. Then, a checksum is created for the local file beginning at the first byte on the receiver. Now, knowing that the first file has a byte less than the second. Will rsync erase the byte in excess on the receiver even if the --delete option is not set ? I ask that...

rsync 2.5.6 still hangs
..., file=io.c, line=165): entered rsync error: error in rsync protocol data stream (code 12) at io.c(165) _exit_cleanup(code=12, file=io.c, line=165): about to call exit(12) If I make multiple runs with '-vvvv', the logs *do* vary, some of it probably buffering issues (the way the sending of cheksums interleaves with the receiving of data), but also the the number of checksums sent in the last file varies. Ideas? Since I seem to be able to duplicate the problem at will, I'd be happy to tryout any fixes. Regards, Steve -- Steve Greenland The irony is that Bill Gates claims to be...

routing in xen 3.0 domU: icmp gets routed, but tcp/ip only partially
Hello folks, I have a really strange routing problem that no amount of googling and experimenting has been able to solve. Then again, I''m new to Xen and "advanced" networking, so I could be missing something very basic. Summary: an unprivileged domU with PCI frontend for a NIC is used as a router; icmp gets routed, but tcp/ip only partially. I''m using a xen-unstable
