NUT UPS in check_mk (OMD) monitoring - does a parser script already exist?
...UT version 2.6.4.
I've installed NUT via apt-get install nut-server on the my Raspberry Pi
running Debian Jessie.
I've been looking at different monitoring systems to use. I really like
the look of Open Monitoring Distribution (OMD). OMD bundles Nagios
together with many addons including check_mk. I've installed the check_mk
agent on my Raspberry Pi so the Pi can talk to the OMD monitoring system.
Unfortunately the check_mk agent that runs on my raspberry pi isn't picking
up the details from NUT so my monitoring system is only displaying details
of the Pi (Ram, space, uptime) and...

Nagios hostgroup collation
Hi everyone,
I am reconsidering how I am using the Puppet nagios functionality, at
the moment I am creating one service for each check on each host. A
lot of them are identical, and would be better tied to hostgroups to
simplify my config. Namely, I have about 5,000 checks in there now
which will go up to about 20K over the next month, and it''s taking
about 5-10 minutes for a Puppet

Nagios, getting started
Hi List,
I have noted a number of times, various comments on this list about
Nagios, hence my questions.
just been employed by an ISP and they want to upgrade their fairly
extensive nagios monitoring.
They are mostly an ubuntu lts shop, so 1st question
What advantages does the RH/CentOS world have (if any?) over the ubuntu
LTS world?
They are talking about running the server on a vm, as I

Nagios and www-data users.
I''m sure people have hit this problem before. In my nagios module, the
nagios command pipe file at /var/lib/nagios3/rw/nagios.cmd is owned by
the nagios user, but needs to be written to by the www-data user.
Adding the www-user to the nagios group is one solution, but that
requires that the nagios module potentially modify the www-data user,
which seems bad.
What''s the best way
