A good way to debug a c++ library embedded to R code
...n.load to load this library into a R code. I am facing some problems in the c++ code that I can not figure out how to solve. Do you recomend any good way to debug this R + C++ program? If I was programming only in C++ I would use GDB. I would much appreciate any help or suggestion! help with my sloppy syntax
...cetera ... It seems that I should be able to avoid defining the variable "par" and then specifying each of its elements, but all my attempts resulted in a list whose first element is a list, rather than the elements of the list. And my attempts at unlist were unsuccessful. Thank you. Charles Annis, P.E. Charles.Annis at StatisticalEngineering.com phone: 561-352-9699 eFax:? 614-455-3265 http://www.StatisticalEngineering.com ?

USB to serial converters
Anyone have an idea as to how to automatically detect the USB number and create a sym link in the dosdevices directory. The problem is that I have several USB devices not used at the same time, and when the USB to serial adapter is connected, a /dev/ttyUSB? is assigned. To use this assignment under WINE, I need to automatically detect /dev/ttyUSB? and then create a sym link in

ggplot adjust two y-axis
Hi, Just find a scaling factor that would make the two sets of data comparable. Here I divided the second row by 5 and did the same for the second axis. Charles-?douard F1 <- as.table(matrix(c(50,11,6,17,16,3,1,2237,611,403,240,280,0,0), 2,7)) barplot(F1, beside = TRUE, col = c("blue", "grey")) axis(2, at=c(0,10,20,30,40,50,60, labels=c(0,10,20,30,40,50,60))) axis(4, at = c(0,500,1000,1500,2000,2500), labels = c(0,500,1000,1500,2000,...

Which R version created a package?
Greetings, R-ians: I would like to know which version or R was used to create a given package. I think I remember seeing that topic discussed recently but cannot find it among my notes. Can anyone tell me how to determine which version of R created a package? Thanks. control L to clear the Rgui screen in Windows
...s R-ians: Searching the Searchable Mail Archives I discovered that ctrl L will clear the Rgui screen, which is what I'd like to do from a print (or some similar) statement. Is there a mechanism to use the ctrl L clear-screen sequence in a script, or print statement? Thanks for your counsel. Charles Annis, P.E. Matrix of dummy variables from a factor
What is a simple way to convert a factor into a matrix of dummy variables? fm<-lm(y~f) where f is a factor takes care of this in the estimation. I'd like to save the result of expanding f into a matrix for later use. Thanks. Charles -- Charles H. ggplot adjust two y-axis
Dear Charles-Edouard Thanks a lot. Yes indeed barplot sounds excellent. Unfortunately, the scale of the smaller axis is fixed, even If I am able to draw to axes. The idea is to expand the scale to the scale to the second axis for comparison. F1 <- as.table(matrix(c(50,11,6,17,16,3,1,2237,611,403,240,280,0,...

I have tried numerous different configurations--and still no luck. Any ideas? Happy New Year. Thanks. [PiShare] comment = Raspber...

example fails during R CMD CHECK but works interactively?
Thank you Dan but it isn't my tests that are failing (all of them pass without problem) but one of the examples from the inst/examples directory. I did try, however, to start R with the environmental variables as you suggest but it had no effect on my tests. Case study of new possibilities with PartialAuth and HostbasedAuth
Finally all the pieces are in place to allow strong user and host authentication with SSH2 and the latest OpenSSH code (plus my partial auth patch). Herein I describe one problem case, and a possible solution thereof. Target: Allow user logins from host charles to host steve using passwords Previously, you would have had to trust the IP headers to authenticate charles. If charles had a dynamic IP address, or was behind dynamic NAT or a non-transparent firewall, you lost. If someone could spoof charles' IP address, you lost. Now, you can solve this...
