position of a specific character
Hi All, I'm wondering whether there is a quick way to know the position of a specific charcater in a long character: for example frg="((D:41.04,I:41.04):45.05,(((E:2.32,((G:0.67,J:0.67):0.44,H:1.11):1.21)" and I would like to know that the 1st, 2nd, 26th, 27th, 28th ... character is "(", is there a quick way to do that? special symobol / character
Hi all, Is it possible to add a permil (or per mille) symbol to an R plot (I couldn't find this symbol under demo(Hershey) or the plotmath information). In some ascii tables it is symbol no. 137. cheers, Matt. [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

DO NOT REPLY [Bug 6582] New: blocking characters in filenames
...os x 10.5.7, darwin kernel version 9.7.0 server : Linux Ubuntu 2.6.24-19-server #1 SMP x86_64 GNU/L cmd : /usr/local/bin/rsync -avz -i --iconv=UTF8-MAC,ISO-8859-15 --delete -e ssh /Users/toto/Documents toto at X.X.X.X:/home/MACUSERS/toto/ In the past i faced problems since users have accentuated charcaters (or weird characters in file/directory names), rsync reports : ****[generator] cannot convert filename:these/cours... the only thing i had to do is to rename the file with deleting weird characters. On one of my clients rsync is stuck (CTRL+C to terminate the job, no network traffic) and reports...

I hope that someone will be so kind to help me into solving this really strange thing (don't know if it is a bug or not) I have a samba4 server and want to use postfix+dovecot - dovecot version is 2.0.11 as for the postfix side everything is OK (all the LDAP lookups works without any error, tested also manually with postmap -q) the real pain is with dovecot deliver: it seems that

histograms resulting from call to soil.texture
Hello, Using the dataset below I produce a soil.texture plot (R code for this included at the end). One will notice I have plotted the points based on whether or not they are in a region called 'upstream' or 'downstream'. I'm curious if there is a way to somehow extract counts of the number of points (red points and blue points) falling within each classification (e.g. silty
