changed ip address of DC
Moved the hdd of my DC over to nicer P4 machine. It started as expected.
(I have resolved the eth0 driver issue that happens with Debian/Ubuntu
servers when you move a functional hdd to a different machine.)
Then I decided to change the static ip address of the DC from
192.168.**.54 to 192.168.**.51. That went as expected, except it seems
my W7 client cannot connect to my domain, now. It says

...t's part of the source package. But I never tried it.
Never mind tried it, I had never heard of it :-D
It also doesn't seem to come with the Debian packages.

ntvfs was written to for S4 but it was decided that it would not be used
as it didn't have the capabilities required, so smbd from S3 was used
instead. So in answer to your question, use s3fs.

Changing IP address after provisioning
Hey everybody,
I would like to know if it is possible to change the IP address of a samba
4 server acting as PDC after the provisioning and after clients have been
added? If it is possible, are there any special things that I have to take
into account when changing the address and what are the general steps
involved (apart from obviously changing the interface's ip address)?
Thanks a lot in

Can we change the IP number of the Samba4 AD system?
Greetings,
I am experiencing a major problem at a client site. For proof of
concept (PoC), I setup a Samba4 AD (Zentyal 3.2) and I was able to
demo all client systems joining it use it for user auth, file system
uid:gid map etc. successfully.
The PoC was on a 192.168.3.0/24 network with IP number 192.168.3.2/24
I changed the IP number (192.168.1.20) to bring the SMB4 AD into
192.168.1.0/24

Restore samba4 backup
Hi guys,
My samba4 PDC (we have only one in our LAN) has crashed.
I did a backup yesterday, following the instructions described here https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Backup_and_Recovery.
Now, I'm trying to restore the backup to a new server.
I've performed the restore procedures but I'm getting the following errors when I try to start samba4 on the new server:
Calling DNS name
