Release - NUT-Html v 1.1
All, I've decided to publish something I threw together. I recently installed NUT and found it to be a hassle to switch between the CGIs for web access. I created some HTML to provide an easy way to go between the CGIs easily and quickly. It uses the exact same color scheme that the default CGIs use. I would very much appreciate any input. I am open to having this included with the main distribution. I apologize if something si...

NUT upsstats.cgi problem
I seem to have NUT all working with my R3000XR, except for the CGIs. The webserver's all properly configured and upsstats.cgi *runs*, but doesn't yield any useful output - no values are displayed, every value is replaced by [error: Invalid argument]. Apache is not logging any resulting errors, and there doesn't seem to be a lot of useful document...

webmaster help needed - call for volunteers
...e can train you to use this if needed. * We have no preferences about what platform you use, as long as you can use a basic text editor and can edit a little HTML by hand. * The sites are using a mishmash of infrastructures, though the basic setup is hand rolled HTML with server side includes and CGIs. We don't expect the web person to need to maintain CGIs, but if you can, all the better. If this sounds interesting and you'd like to help out, please contact me privately at jack@xiph.org. We could really use the help! Please include some notes about yourself, and if there is anythin...

Proposal: MAC_BIBA and real-world usage
...is a ugidfw rule that states that subjects with an uid withing that range can only access objects belonging to the same user in case their uid is within the interval as well. I didn't use MAC compartments because there is a limit on the number of compartments. Users are allowed to run CGIs and PHP scripts, and PHP is ran as CGI, so that each process will have the uid of its owner. Launching PHP as a CGI hurts performance, but this is a server for relatively low- volume sites, and security is much more important. 2) OS Integrity. Apache is launched with biba/low(low-low) credent...

chroot() as non-root user?
...proposal: Q3: Why not allow non-root users to chroot() _as long as the target dir. is on a partition mounted nosuid_? Seems like this would be a simple mechanism (both to understand and to implement) and would allow regular users to take advantage of chroot to improve the security of scripts, CGIs, etc. Mark

Web Based scheduler like LiveSupport for icecast
I've been scouring the web for a web based scheduler for use with icecast. Here is what I'm looking for: I want to be able to say "at X time, Y file/playlist will play" I want to be able to control icecast from the web I want to be able to lock control of this site with some form of authentication Preferably PHP, but ruby/rails would be good too. Any suggestions? --

Systemd, PHP-FPM, and /cgi-bin scripts
...be able to run the /cgi-bin in the same context as the php-fpm environment so files can be access across all the different parts of the web app. This includes related things like access to the $_SESSION data files, and so on. How do I even begin? Google searches are loaded with stuff like perl cgis having access to PHP data, PRE-SYSTEMD, and I find no apache directives (so far) that have been helpful. Any ideas?

UEFI and PXE
We have a working PXE setup. I've tried to adapt it to UEFI as per RHEL6 manual, but the client won't boot. Strangely, tcpdump shows that the client tries to download all files via tftp from the dhcp server rather than the tftp server (they are different). next-server is pointing to the tftp server. Any clues?

File access in Apache 2.4 (clarification)
Folks I'm having file-access problems in Apache 2.4 under Centos 7. In particular: - I have a file that's readable to every user and every application, (writeable by only one user), but my CGI scripts cannot read it. - Some of my CGI scripts need temporary storage for some files. They are, for example, some internal log files, tnat get cleaned up over time, but I want to be able to

Help with Apache config
I have been attempting for days to configure Apache for Rails. I have read forums, followed How-To''s all in vain. I am hoping someone can help me out. I am getting the Rails Welcome screen, but when trying to go to any other url, I get the 500.html message. Take a look for yourself at http://66.139.78.237 and click on "about your application''s environment".

Christmas mail
...* thank to Arjen who has devoted a lot of time and energy to push that release. 2.4.0-pre1 wouldn't have been in time without him. So Kudos Dad' 2.0 ;-) * new CGI & web 2.0: with the growing demand for integrating NUT, in big infrastructure, or simply in appliances (see below), the NUT CGIs started to be too old fashioned and not flexible enough. Jonathan "JonJon" Bonzy, an Eaton colleague, has kindly accepted to work on his *personal* time to improve that situation. He has started to add CSS support and to do some make up. A preliminary result can be seen: http://arnaud.que...

File access in Apache 2.4 (clarification)
...grep keys.txt > -rw-r--r-- 1 user1 user1 11829 Nov 21 08:29 keys.txt > > > Any suggestions? > The httpd.servicce unit in c7 has: PrivateTmp=true Which means that Apache has its own private /tmp namespace. So it?s probably working, just not where you expect. Don?t use /tmp in CGIs. (And don?t disable selinux, particularly for web apps) -- Jonathan Billings

Web Based scheduler like LiveSupport for icecast
...you can do like i'm doing : read a playlist file from perl script (which file based on the system's clock) and select a track from it at random. For controling icecast, you can use signals (SIGHUP rereads playlist, SIGUSR1 goes to next track, ...) via a CGI ? (i'm not sure signals from CGIs is always possible). For simple authentication, .htpasswd will do. Cristian Alvarado wrote: > I've been scouring the web for a web based scheduler for use with > icecast. Fedora 9 domU on CentOS 5.2 dom0 - very unstable?
I am running a Fedora 9 domU on CentOS 5.2 dom0, and it is quite unreliable. Every few days I have the following phenomenon: - many applications do not work at all (e. g. Nagios 3.05 stops checking, but the cgis work perfectly, the web server works as well) - system processes run into time outs (e. g. logging in via ssh runs into timeouts <<"connection reset by peer">> after many seconds, logging into the console does not get finished ever, no error, no refusal) and similiar All I...
