libvirt/qemu and cgroups
...in an efficient way right out of the box?
If not, It's all about /etc/cgconfig.conf and cgrules.conf. I am
honestly not sure :
-what are the correct mount points for cpu, memory etc in the
/sys/fs/cgroup directory .
- which directories am I supposed to mk, if any ?
Then, Archwiki[1] says:
# cgcreate -a $USER -g memory,cpu:groupname
- what is the groupename I shall create (qemu*, MyMachine) ?
- which $USER shall I use (qemu*, my username) ?
* qemu:qemu as user:group in /etc/libvirt/qemu.conf
Thank you for some help as I admit if I understand the cgroups
principle and advantages, I am far f...

Diskless Centos & Cgroup config changes
...a point which is not usable. Trying /sys/fs/cgroup in rwtab seems to
improve boot time but also causes the machine not to complete booting.
I had some more success using cgconfig.conf, I was able to mount the memory
cgroup to a local disk (each node has a local temp disk) and manipulate
this using cgcreate but the cpu would not mount in the same fashion; the
error was: Error: cannot mount cpu to /var/tmp/cgroup/cpu: Device or
resource busy
So my question; in this particular environment, is how best to utilize
cgroup if I want control over both cpu and mem? Is it possible with a
read-only root image...

Question about putting vm in blkio cgroup
Hello,
I have another question about cgroup in libvirt
I create a script that put vm in cgroup for limiting blkio

pid=`pgrep $alias`
echo $pid > /dev/cgroup/blkio/$alias/tasks
$virsh schedinfo --set cpu_shares=$cpu $alias
echo "8:0 $disk_io" > /dev/cgroup/blkio/$alias/blkio.throttle.read_bps_device
echo "8:0 $disk_io" > /dev/cgroup/blk...

how to limit cpu usage for specified processes
Hi,
Is there some tool or method in centos that can limit cpu usage to some percentage for specified processes that consume large cpu resource?
I found cpulimit which is only able to limit one process. what I want is one tool that can limit several same processes' cpu usage. Thanks!
