Using cforest on a hierarchically structured dataset
...- - - - - - - -
Thoughts appear from doubts and die in convictions. Therefore, doubts
are an indication of strength and convictions an indication of weakness.
Yet, most people believe the opposite.

Les r?flexions naissent dans les doutes et meurent dans les certitudes.
Les doutes sont donc un signe de force et les certitudes un signe de
faiblesse. La plupart des gens sont pourtant certains du contraire.

tail and head drop qdiscs
...ermit to drop the oldest
frame of a queue when this queue is full, but I would like to
be wrong:
bfifo drops arriving frames when the max queue length is reached.
red also drops arriving frames in a more elaborate fashion, with
a drop probability that increases above a limit and becomes
a drop certitude when the max queue length is reached.
sfq drops "fairly", it piles frames with same (ip source, ip dest,
port source and port dest) and drops a frame from the
biggest pile to favour the smaller flows.
But I cannot find the qdisc that reacts like a bfifo or red qdisc
but drops the olde...

Well, remember when I said:

Just before I found the expunge bug in index, I was trying to fix the
new-dir-only syncing because the code looked wrong. Then I

Hi,
Thanks William for this fast answer, and sorry for sending the 1st mail
to r-help instead to r-devel.
I noticed that bug while I was simulating many small random walks using

[OT] Appropriate test?
Hi,
I'm having some problem with a dataset and I don't really know how to
analyse it.
I have 20 subjects in two groups of treatment (8 an 12 subjects).
Biological measure have been recorded at different time, from t0 (before
the treatment) to t7 (3 days after). The time elapsed between each
measure is not constant.
What is the most appropriate test to show a difference between the 2

printers... (HP)
I can't remember if I asked here - I've got more than one printer, HP,
laser, builtin JetDirect. When I go there in a browser, I see the basic
thing, but I can't get to the networking page. It says that it wants a
password, no user name. It doesn't accept anything. Last week, a co-worker
reset one to factory defaults... and it comes up with the same thing.
