Are there any selinux policy additions (so restorecon keeps them each time it is ran) I should be looking to make before trying to slip the new system in under the users

firewire on centos5
Hi all, CentOS noob trying v5 for the first time -- What's the best way to get firewire modules onboard? Build a custom kernel? I'm not seeing any cent5 compatible module-rpms for this. Any general pointing in the right direction would be appreciated. Thanks

Unable to get dummy interfaces to persist across reboots in CentOS 8
No. Network Manager is always disabled on our builds since at least Cent5 days. The network stack has always been able to be managed properly without relying on Network Manager. Is that now an absolute requirement? It never has been prior. On Mon, Oct 26, 2020 at 6:26 PM Strahil Nikolov via CentOS <centos at centos.org> wrote: > > Have you tried to use Ne...

yum install oprofile-gui
Nicolas Thierry-Mieg, We followed your instructions to yum install oprofile-gui. We were able to install oprofile-guii.i386 0:0.9.4-15.el5.centos and oprofile.i386 0.0.9.4.15.el.5.centos. I was wondering what our next step should be. I tried ./configure --with-kernel-support with oprofile-0.9.6 and obtain a warning, a working QT not found, no GUI was built. Should we try to build

Centos 5.4 DNS resolution issue
I can ping the google.com ip addresses (209.85.231.104) but can't ping the FQDN, obviously DNS is broken. I can also ping the nameserver ip addresses specified in /etc/resolv.conf. -- Gaurav On Sun, Mar 7, 2010 at 10:48 PM, Gaurav Nangla <gaurav.knangla at gmail.com>wrote: > Hi Everyone, > I've setup a Centos 5.4 (x86_64) box in a VM recently; the trouble is I just >
