Cellsocket Report Card (GSM/PCS to FXS gateway)
I recently purchased a Cellsocket, which is a cradle that holds some
older Nokia GSM/PCS phones and converts them to an FXS interface. My
test phone is a Nokia 5190 on the T-Mobile GSM network.
After going through the ordeal of unlocking the phone (T-Mobile provided
unlock codes that didn't work), I finally got it up and running.
The good:
- Disconnect supervision works
- Outstanding sound

Cellsocket update
When I posted my last message about the cellsocket, I hadn't thought to
try incoming calls. (I bought the cellsocket to use only for outgoing
calls.)
Unfortunately, I cannot get the cellsocket to work for inbound calls.
CallerID does not work even though I have a GSM phone. The cellsocket
answers the phone and then starts ringing any attached phones after
answering. Most importantly,

Appending a # to a dial-out number
Hi all,
I've just connected a cellsocket to my * server so that I can keep call
costs low for outgoing calls to mobile phones. I'm using an old
fashioned 5110 cellsocket (because I have a few of these phones and I
think that they are very reliable). For those that don't know the
cellsockets they convert a mobile phone into a POTS line. The
cellsocket has a funny dialtone but that doesn't seem to be a problem
for *. The way the cellsockets work is that you dial the number
normally but you need to dial a trailing # which makes the cellsocket
"press" the send button and i...

Dialing a # in phone number?
Hi,
I have not been successful in working out how to dial a # within a phone
number. EG:
exten => _12345,1,Dial(Zap/1/0868563823#,5,t)
or
exten => _08XXXXXXXX,1,Dial(Zap/1/${EXTEN}#)
I'm trying to append a # character so that I can use a cellsocket
(mobile phone to pots adapter) connected to an x100p. I think that
asterisk is simply ignoring the # character. The docs on

chan_capi and chan_misdn
Could someone please comment on the current state of chan_capi,
chan_misdn and chan_modem channel drivers in terms of functionality and
stability. Specifically, which channel driver would be best for a
passive PCI HFC or W6692 ISDN card. The chan_misdn wiki claims that
chan_capi distinguishes between junghanns and non-junghans cards, and
that chan_misdn is better suited for general misdn

Asterisk Interface with mobile phone
Hi:
I live in a country where calls from landline phone to a mobile phones is more expensive than mobile to mobile. I have FXO card connected to the landline. All the calls from IAX goes through this interface to the pstn and mobile phones. I want to save money by transfering mobile calls through a mobile phone. Is there some interface between the FXO card and the mobile phone so asterisk can

bluetooth audio and asterisk
Has anyone successfully used a standard bluetooth enabled system to
connect to a standard bluetooth enabled mobile phone (not the bluetooth
to FXS converters) to create an audio path for phone calls with
asterisk, if so is there a writeup on what was done so that others can
replicate this.
What I am thinking is that via alsa/oss/whatever you should be able to
use the bluetooth audio channel as a

GSM phones, bluetooth and general happiness
When I installed my first home-PBX three years ago, I was looking at
"cellsockets" -- devices which will accept certain cellular phones and
provide an RJ11 jack, generating the ring-voltage and recognizing DTMF,
which in turn makes your cell-phone look like a CO line. Pretty cool
stuff, in theory, but it just didn't seem to be worth the cost,
especially since it locks...

seeking GSM 850/1900 gateway
Hi,
I'm looking for a reliable, reasonably-priced, single-channel
interface between * and US GSM.
The VOIP GSM Gateways listed at
http://www.voip-info.org/wiki-VOIP+GSM+Gateways
(VoiceBlue, QUTEX) are multichannel systems, very expensive
($2500 or more).
Next step down, there are various Fixed Cellular Terminal
(FCT) or Fixed Wireless Terminal (FWT) devices. These
typically have an FXS

Using Zyxel Analog Telephone adapter with a GSM gateway
Searching through wiki and google.
http://www.2n.cz/products/gsm_gateways/voip/voiceblue.html
but there are also other products on the market.
---
Wondering if its possible to connect as follows:
Extension -> Asterisk -> ZyxelAnalogTelephoneAdapter -> GSM gateway.
The best way would be to make the ZyxelAnalog.. to be a channel.
But I don't think that is doable.. or ?

So i
