What to do on a national celebration day? Test, test, test!
Today is Swedens national day - since a few years a holiday too.
We don't have a tradition on how to celebrate.
Sweden has not been to war for a very long time, so there's no real
spirit
for the country here - it's been aroundfor such a long time, so
what? :-)
Guess we have to learn from abroad, to get a celebration feeling like

celebrating revision 50000
Hello,
Today, Brian Ripley commited the revision 50000 of R's svn repository.
I took this as an opportunity to do some data analysis of the log and
posted some code and graphics on my blog:
http://romainfrancois.blog.free.fr/index.php?post/2009/10/09/celebrating-R-commit-50000
The plots of the number of commits per day (and per month) indicates a
peak in 2002.

Sorry, that name is a misnomer. However, I was excited to find that Ruby

Celebrating our Samba4 installations
G'Day,
In my work in Samba support and development for Catalyst, I often get
asked by prospective Samba4 users about other similar organisations
using our AD DC. The Samba survey reveals that we do indeed have a
great number of Samba AD DC users, and I know many of you thought this
list, and others as customers, but I always get the sense that I, and
the public, never hear about the most

Celebrating Centos 6.0 Day World-wide
Saturday, 9 July 2011 in England.
This afternoon I was very enthusiastically telling staff in a large US
owned stationary and computers chain store (with often too high prices),
Staples, about the joys and benefits of using Linux, specifically
Centos, over M$ Windoze.
May I suggest that all us very grateful users of Centos make 6 copies of
Centos 6.0 (either i386 or/and X64) and hand then out

New logo for CentOS
To celebrate CentOS as the greatest thing since sliced bread, we
should endevour to have a new logo in place. Whilst the current one
suffices, a new logo/favicon should be in place.
My artistry skills are not good (i was eating hotdogs whilst the rest
of the class learned fine art), so those of you artistically endowed
should come up with something.

R in Nature
Hi all,
We've just had a paper accepted for publication in Nature. We used R for
95% of our analyses (one of my co-authors sneaked in some GenStat when I
wasn't looking.). The preprint is available from the Nature web site, in
the open peer-review trial section. I searched Nature for previous
references to "R Development Core Team", and I received no hits. So I

Help with multiple subnets
I have two subnets in may LAN 192.168.0.0/24 and
192.168.1.0/24. Both subnets go out to the Internet
through a Linux box acting as a gateway, so the
gateway has one interface in each subnet (192.168.1.1
and 192.168.0.1). In both subnets I have Windows and
Linux machines and I want to configure SMB networking
using a workgroup (not a domain), so one workgroup for
more than one subnet.
I know that
