[Bug 285] 3.3p1 on Linux 2.2.x doesn't accept connections
http://bugzilla.mindrot.org/show_bug.cgi?id=285
------- Additional Comments From dtucker at zip.com.au 2002-06-23 20:31 -------
Disabling PrivSep (add "UsePrivilegeSeparation no" to sshd_config) should get it
working on 2.2 kernels.
3.3p1 defaults PrivSep to on. Previous releases (that supported it) defaulted to
off.

smbclient fails
...tup to the wins server on
the other end of the PIX.
My questions
- I verified the WINS server is running, do I need to set a WINS server
value in my ifcfg-eth1 file?
- Is there another networking file I need to set a WINS server in?
- How can I make this work?
Thanks.

User auth problem
...'guest2': authentication failed
>><<
I set smbpassword for this user's account and the guest2 account to the
same password he uses for his Window's password.
All the other local users still work.
Any thoughts?
I really appricate the help.

Running tail -f on that users log file doesn't even show anything
hitting the server.
Other network activities work fine. (All the network settings seem to
be correct, I had another guy look over them with me today).
Thoughts?
Thanks.

password question
Hi,
I have installed Samba 2.2.8 on a Solaris 8 server and have a question about samba passwords. I know you can assign an NT server to authenticate passwords, and you can also use samba to create a smbpasswd list. My question, is can you use the existing UNIX /etc/passwd or /etc/shadow file so that we don't have to manage another list?
Thanks in advance!

smbmount question
Hi,
I'm running Linux 2.2.2 w/ Samba 2.0.2, using the smbmount that comes with
Samba 2.0.2. I noticed that when I mount shares, smbmount sticks around,
almost like a daemon:
[root@jason /root]# smbmount //XXXX.gatech.edu/XXXX$ "XXXXXX" -U jkau
-c "mount /mnt/cnd" < /dev/null > /tmp/smbmount.out
[root@jason /root]# ps ax | grep smbmount
