smbclient fails
...tup to the wins server on the other end of the PIX. My questions - I verified the WINS server is running, do I need to set a WINS server value in my ifcfg-eth1 file? - Is there another networking file I need to set a WINS server in? - How can I make this work? Thanks. --John -- John Anderson Ceeva, Inc.

Error 54 with Net Use
...resources are specified. ~~~ Running tail -f on that users log file doesn't even show anything hitting the server. Other network activities work fine. (All the network settings seem to be correct, I had another guy look over them with me today). Thoughts? Thanks. --John -- John Anderson Ceeva, Inc.

password question
Hi, I have installed Samba 2.2.8 on a Solaris 8 server and have a question about samba passwords. I know you can assign an NT server to authenticate passwords, and you can also use samba to create a smbpasswd list. My question, is can you use the existing UNIX /etc/passwd or /etc/shadow file so that we don't have to manage another list? Thanks in advance!

smbmount question
Hi, I'm running Linux 2.2.2 w/ Samba 2.0.2, using the smbmount that comes with Samba 2.0.2. I noticed that when I mount shares, smbmount sticks around, almost like a daemon: [root@jason /root]# smbmount //XXXX.gatech.edu/XXXX$ "XXXXXX" -U jkau -c "mount /mnt/cnd" < /dev/null > /tmp/smbmount.out [root@jason /root]# ps ax | grep smbmount 10678 ?
