Upload PDF / Save as tiff
Hi, I''m trying to automate the conversion of a PDF document received via a browser upload to a tiff image via ghostscript. I have the PDF data in a string, and I need the tiff data returned into a string. The general command I want to emulate is: type test.pdf | "c:\program files\gs\gs8.56\bin\gswin32c.exe" -q -dNOPAUSE -dBATCH -sDEVICE=tiffg4 -sOutputFile=- > test5.tiff

Best Printer Setup
Hi, I've been toying with the idea of using the Linux machine as a print server. I'm using RedHat 5.2 and Samba 2.0.3. I already have one remote printer share working... but I can't figure out where the PrintTool in RedHat is storing the remote printers IP address. Anyone know where? :) (not important just bugging me - I hate when OS's hide stuff) I have the Samba book

No automatic refresh?
Hi! I've been struggling with this install of Samba 2.0.4b on Linux/x86 2.0.36. All of the client machines run Windows NT 4, SP 3. I'm exporting /tmp as pub, and if I right click in the folder and create a new folder, it doesn't show up until I go to 'view' and 'refresh'. If I delete something, it doesn't go away until I refresh. Why? Output of testparm:

...due to having a linux gateway instead of an Windows ME gateway. However, I've had horrible problems setting up network printing. I've got Samba set up and that is working fine with various shares that I've set up. I've finally managed to get CUPS set up with the HP 840C, Foomatic + cdj550 which will print the test page and does so in colour (impressive indeed)! But, I can not get any of the windows boxes to print to this printer. In my samba smb.cnf file I have the following: [global] printing = cups And that's all in the global section. Then: [printers] comment = All Pr...
