Bugs listed in Debian BTS
Here is a list of bugs in the Debian BTS not involving Debian packaging
itself.

#70032 IIRC someone told me this bug would not be fixed, so I might
just close it.

out.
Thanks,

open bugs in debian bts
Here is a list of current open bugs in debian bts, some of these bugs
are probably fixed but I do not know how to test for them properly (like
UTF-8) and others may not be important enough to hold up 1.0.

vorbis 1.0.1 - debian bts bug list
Anyone who wants to see what bugs might not have made it into xiph
bugzilla may want to look at the urls below. Be sure to check the bugs
marked as fixed in NMU since they may have patches that aren't in cvs
yet. I'll try to be around to help verify the bugs are fixed before
release tomorrow/monday.

thoughts about MP3 -> OGG convertor
Everyone here already knows that convertings mp3s to oggs is a very bad
idea. However many users don't care and will find a way to convert anyway.
I propose that there be a tool to automatically do it that comes with
vorbis-tools, that way it can automatically tag it as SOURCE=MP3 (or
whatever). Of course we should have it emit a warning that it is bad to
convert from mp3 to ogg but users

ogg123 oss plugin plays garbage
I tried to use the current cvs version of ogg123 with oss output and the
ogg just sounds like static. I wanted to document it on the list in case
anyone else is having the problem. I can make ogg123 write wav files fine.
Also Vakor does not have any trouble playing oggs with ogg123, so I am not
certain what the problem is. I have tried compiling all of ogg vorbis
(ao,ogg,vorbis,vorbis-tools)
