How does UDMA mode get set?

ad0: piomode=4 dmamode=2 udmamode=5 cblid=1
My question is, why did the kernel set UDMA33 mode instead of UDMA66
mode? Yes, I have the proper cable, and the drive support up to
UDMA100. I didn't see anything obvious in the BIOS that would prevent
UDMA66 mode, but I could have missed something.
Thanks.
