Negative Binomial Predictions
...understand what it states (which of course could always be the case)
Given that this is a negative binomial model, the mean is often times to
the right of the most likely value, so I'd like to ask how one would go
about predicting the most likely value.
Thanks in advance !

Import ASCII data using a .sas program
...2
So SAS uses the position of the ASCII character to determine what
variable the data should be in while the SCAN or the READ. FWF function
of R uses the width of the column.
Does anyway have a smart and/or automated way of moving my ASCII data
into R using this .SAS program ?

Proper / Improper scoring Rules
...R/e4/help/08/04/8987.html I am not so
sure anymore. I am afraid I did not understand Frank Harrell's last
suggestion regarding improper scoring rule - can someone point me to
some internet resources that I might be able to review to see why my
approach would not be valid ?

Cross Validation output
...for my negative binomial model that I can substitute
into the cost function of cv.glm() ? Would anyone care to recommend one
(or many) ?
Thanks in advance for your patience !
-Don
PS - if you've seen my previous posts, I've abandoned my 80/20 split
validation scheme.

Plotting series with no data in xyplot
...I am hoping there is an easy or slick solution but as I started
to think about it, it might be rather complex because you'd need to tell
xyplot what granularity you'd like to not connect (e.g. 5 hours in a
row, 4 days in a row, etc).
Any help would be much appreciated !
