[success] VB3 Program "Watchtower Library" now works
Hi! Some time ago I wrote about two problems, which I encountered when trying to run a VB3 program with Wine. The program is called "Watchtower Library". The search function crashed. With debugging and disassembling of a .vbx I later found out that the program itself was bailing out and not wine. But I had no idea how to remedy the problem. The tooltips (in the program called

box m-test
Hello everybody, Is there in R a so called box m-test for testing the equality of the variance/cov. matrix for checking on homoscedasticity? I could not find it among the traditional packages for multivariate statistics... WTLIB99 with wine-010510 tar ball broken again
Hi: Remember that I somewhat enthusiastically wrote that a VB3 program called "Watchtower Library 1999" now works with wine-010508? Well, [un]fortunately it is broken with again with the wine-010510 tar ball. (Thank you, Kin Lau for pointing this out to me by e-mail.) Description: The main program window of WTLIB99 is just a small bar with buttons and a menu on top of the buttons.

Anova 2 vías NO PARAMÉTRICO
Hola, tenemos como equivalencia no paramétrica al Anova de 1 vía el test Kruskal Wallis, pero ¿existe un test no paramétrico equivalente al Anova de 2 vías? Gracias. Saludos. -- Sec. Covert list of list to dataframe for export or outputting by(test) output
Greetings, I am running a buch of wilcox tests and need to be able to rapidly export the results into a csv file. I have attached example code as well as my attempts to get what I need. I have tried unlist, cbind, rbind etc but I am obvously missing something simple. FYI I am actually running about 50 WRS tests per dataset, this is just an example. Thanks 10^6 Mike AKCCR <-

Plot of multiple data sets
Hello ! There is something quite simple I want to do with R but I found nowhere in the help how to do it. I just want to plot data which are in a matrix, every column being a data set and having the same x-axis (just an index). So for example if I have a 50 x 6 matrix I want 6 set of points on the same plot. I tried plot,new() plot(MATRIX[,1]) plot(MATRIX[,2]) ... but it replaces the previous

GAM without intercept
Hi everybody, I am trying to fit a GAM model without intercept using library mgcv. However, the result has nothing to do with the observed data. In fact the predicted points are far from the predicted points obtained from the model with intercept. For example: #First I generate some simulated data: library(mgcv) x<-seq(0,10,length=100) y<-x^2+rnorm(100) #then I fit a gam model with

rsync-2.5.6 build on Red Hat 8.0 fails
The packaging/lsb/rsync.spec file is broken as shipped: It has a "Sept" month (rpmbuild here takes only 3-letter month names), and RH gzips the manpages, so the %files list can't find them. I also added doc/README-SGML and doc/rsync.sgml to the %doc files. Patch follows. Thanks for all the good work! --- rsync-2.5.6/packaging/lsb/rsync.spec.orig 2003-01-28 06:28:35.000000000 +0100

Multiple comparisons like a Chi2 or Fisher's exact test
Dear all I have an experiment where plots either have or have not regrown (in 40 plots) after receiving 12 different herbicide treatments and a control (no treatment). The data are significant with a Chi2, but to later distinguish if the differences are significant between each of the 12 treatments apart I need to do multiple Chi2 s between each. Is there a way to run those multiple Chi2 or

multiple comparisons for proportions
Dear all I am still fishing for help on this theme. In Zar 1999 page 563-565 he describes a "Tukey-type multiple comparison" for testing among proportions. It involves comparisons of ranked proportions transformed to degrees. In the following pages there are a couple of similar comparisons. I cannot find an example of this in R. Is there such a thing? Cheers Chris

nonparametric 2way repeated-measures anova
Dear R Christoph Lehmann asked about this recently- as seen at http://finzi.psych.upenn.edu/R/Rhelp02a/archive/53191.html but the reply was not detailed. Did Christoph get a solution to this? Can anyone point me toward how to do repeated measures comparison using the the friedman test or other non-parametric test? I am trying to do something similar. Any example code would be useful.
