[Bug 12435] cpu hog loading explosm cartoon
http://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=12435 --- Comment #12 from Riccardo Magliocchetti <riccardo at datahost.it> 2008-04-11 09:30:26 PST --- It loads very fast with latest git, still high on cpu while playing but from profiling there's no trace of swfdec over 1%, mostly cairo and pixman. I'd like to wait closing this until i've been able to profile with cairo 1.6.0.

Story Runner: Readability of output with multiple params
Fistly, many, many thanks for RSpec and Story Runner. Minor request to improve readability of output Given a scenario item with multiple params.. Eg. And "the user belongs to", "Joe", "Acme" do |user_name, company_name| The readability of the following output is less than ideal.. "And the user belongs to company,Joe Public, No Videos" It would be

Insert .eps files in to an R plot.
...pace for only one figure and I have to insert the picture of the bacteria into the plot. Is there a way to insert figures (eps/png/jpg) in to plots (may be control over placement of figures in the plot as well?) ? By plots I mean data represented using axes and points and such and by figures I mean cartoons, pictures taken by a camera and such. Thanks, MoonStone -- View this message in context: http://n4.nabble.com/Insert-eps-files-in-to-an-R-plot-tp1690704p1690704.html Sent from the R help mailing list archive at Nabble.com.

Hello~!~
...that I can learn a lot here. Adam: sounds really interesting. _why: My condolences about those bruises. I assume they''re from the pelting you got on RedHanded a while back. Harsh. If it makes you feel any better, I thought I''d let you know that if it weren''t for your cartoon foxes, I''d probably still be banging my head against php. Thanks! -D

text bubble (rectangle)?
Dear R wizards: sorry to bug everyone twice in one day. I would like to annotate my graph by putting text strings into rectangle boxes with a little cartoon-like bubble with a lid pointing to a specific location. I can draw some sort of bubble-with-lid using the R primitives. (has anyone done something like this already?) the problem where I am stuck is that the width of the rectangle must depend on the length and font of my string. is there a way...

"encoder_example" segfaulting...(and a couple of other questions)
...to see my mouldering old "Ogg-Theora Micro-howto[1]" document referenced. I figured that meant people might still be finding it useful, so I felt it was time to dust it off and update it. I also noticed that archive.org now has a small but growing collection of public-domain classic cartoons[2] (can't help it if I'm a cartoon junkie) available in DVD mpeg2 format, so I figured I'd grab one, try out my old instructions for dumping file data from mplayer, and see if it still worked (and see if the issue of needing to ensure that the first audio packet preceded the first...

Orthoblique rotation on eigenvectors (SAS VARCLUS)
...varclus". According to the SAS documentation, the first few steps are: 1. Find the first two principal components. 2. Perform an orthoblique rotation (quartimax rotation) on eigenvectors. 3. Assign each variable to the rotated component with which it has the higher squared correlation. The cartoon example below attempt to do this, but I found my results differ from SAS in "pc3" (i.e, the standardize component scores). I'd appreciate your help in whether you see anything wrong in "pc2" or "pc3"? set.seed(1) x1=rnorm(200); x2=0.9*x1; x3=0.7*x1; x4=x1*x1; x5...

How can I run package ca (correspondence analysis), which needs rgl, without X11?
...to be able to. How can I make it? I don't mind ca complaining when it indeed does need X11, but couldn't the dependency check be postponed until runtime, so as not to spoil things for people to whom it's irrelevant? AFS maildirs & GSSAPI?
...I work on this free (http://www.fsf.org/philosophy/) software stuff and not get a real job. Charles Shultz had the best answer: "Why do musicians compose symphonies and poets write poems? They do it because life wouldn't have any meaning for them if they didn't. That's why I draw cartoons. It's my life." -- Charles Shultz

what about a mascot ?
My friend Veslot proposed me the Raven ! http://www.teteamodeler.com/allopass/images/corbeau.jpg As a matter of fact the intelligence of this bird is comparable to one of a monkey, although its brain is close to a reptile brain. R is quite the same : small, compact, but so clever. This is a canadian website explaining (in french) the R-aven intelligence
