FW: Question about carraige-return/line feed
Hi, I have just installed Samba 1.9.16p11 on a SCO openserver 5 box. This works well, in fact its very fast. There is only one problem. When files are created on it from Windows 95 you get a ^M character at the end of each line. Is there a way of turning carraige-return linefeed back to just linefeed. (I'm assuming this is the problem). Thanks, Mark.

Windows ME Logon scripts
...#39;running logon scripts'. If the user.bat file does not exist it simply skips this step. So I know it sees my bat files. If I execute it from the windows ME pc after the pc is booted up it works. The bat file is as follows: rem Network logon script net use h: \\win\homes It has DOS style carraige returns at the end of each line. It is chmod 777 and chown'ed to the user. It there some specific syntax with WinME logon scripts that I am missing. I think I can see: Bad command or file name quickly flicker on my screen. I tried a batch file of simple: pause Which didn't do anything...

Send Break to terminal server
Setup :: PC (cygwin) <-> Terminal Server (InReach) <-> Sun Server (Solaris 8) Scenarios : Using Tera Term Pro with ssh extension, I connect to the Terminal Server via ssh and I can use 'Control -> Send Break' to send the break sequence to drop the Sun Server into its 'ok prompt'. Using ssh via cygwin, I tried to do '~ ctrl-B', but it will not

Control Characters
I am attempting a text editor using wxRuby. I''m having character issues. Strings are not binary-safe. Some characters are not allowed. - newline / line feed (\n), tab (\t) are displayed - carraige return (\r) is stripped - Other control characters and high-ascii cause control values to become empty.
