temporal and spatial correlation structures in GAMM
Dear R_help list members!   I’m studding forest carnivores and I have data on resting site selection and use!   I’m trying to model the probability that a forest carnivore might have in be located in a tree hollow (1) (the main resting site selected) rather than elsewhere (0) (other resting site types, dens, nests, etc.). The model should be related wit...

Choosing nlme or lme4?
Hi List,   I’ m analysing the selectivity of resting site use by forest carnivores through mixed modelling techniques and I wonder which will be the best r package to deal with several aspects simultaneously: -          binomial variable response; -          possible spatial and/or temporal correlation; I have tried nlme (lme function) and lme4 (lmer function) packages, however...

There's also a slight distance... and I figure that the CIA and the FBI would have the successor to Carnivore staring at my every email if I used you as a hosting provider. <g> > > Believe it or not, I am one of the *very* *very* rare hosting providers in Serbia (local mostly) that provide SSL POP3/SMTP connection via port 995 and 465. There is maybe one or two providers on 7 million citizens....

changing outlier shapes of boxplots using lattice
Hello This is Elaine. I am using package lattice to generate boxplots. Using Richard's code, the display was almost perfect except the outlier shape. Based on the following code, the outliers are vertical lines. However, I want the outliers to be empty circles. Please kindly help how to modify the code to change the outlier shapes. Thank you. code package (lattice) dataN <-

It's a sort of tell--I've tried to make clear the intricacies of my life and a created Microcosm woven into places you wouldn't really expect; from "Phenix" (connecting now, only in retrospect to Joseph and /Phiple Troenix's Carnivore/ if you really follow what I write about) to "Random Access" on KDice ... this one "/voidanswer/" I've thought of as a kind of "/who knows/?" answer to the relationship between God and Artificial Intelligence, even though we have plenty more to add to that now jus...

We've watched and privacy has been legislated away, the Patriot Act and related chain resulting from the events of 9/11 ... and nobody really speaks out about the lack of free speech apparent in Carnivore's packet eating "I'm not a sniffer, I'm the firewall." We are watching as the lack of faith in the Constitution, in the failure to use it's proper channels of amendment has caused laws relating to new technologies to atrociously violate the precepts and the intent of th...
