Weird problem with script/server, lighttpd, and FreeBSD
I installed lighttpd from ports on my FreeBSD-5 system last night, wanting
to play with that instead of WEBrick for development work.
I installed it, and ran script/server, and got this:
[minter@carlton discostu]$ script/server
=> Booting lighttpd (use ''script/server webrick'' to force WEBrick)
=> Rails application started on http://0.0.0.0:3000
=> Call with -d to detach (requires absolute paths in
config/lighttpd.conf)
=> Ctrl-C to shutdown server (see config/lighttp...

Changing SWAT user?
...but I'm not able to get smbd or
nmbd running. When I try to get into SWAT to make changes it keeps
reverting back to my login which does not allow me to make changes. Is
there a way to reset this?
Also, any ideas on why smdb and smdb is not running?
(go easy on me. I'm new to Linux)

ajax problem when switching from prototype to jquery
...<% end %>
It''s supposed to return the response from answer.js.erb. Unfortunately, when
I do that, I get the following complaint:
template quiz/answer, application/answer with {:handlers=>[:builder, :erb],
:formats=>[:html], :locale=>[:en, :en]}. Searched in: *
"/home/carlton/memory/app/views"
So it''s looking for HTML instead of JavaScript; and, indeed, the Accept:
header says:
text/html,application/xhtml+xml,application/xml;q=0.9,*/*;q=0.8
(I guess that */* at the end is too low priority for it to have an effect.)
I tried explicitly responding only to...

[libvirt] Creating a storage volume for raw format file
...path>path to copy of file</path>
</source>
works, seemingly by copying the 'source' file to the intended location
of the volume file
However I am concerned about the overhead of copying the file, is there
a way to tell it to move the file (i.e. rename)
Thanks

Using inline editor without requiring a URL
Hi,
I was wondering if anyone has implemented the inplace editor without the
need for the URL. I have tried this but run into a problem in that the
''saving...'' text in shown for ever and the label is no longer editable.
Can I also confirm that my idea of the callback function is something that
runs before the value is passed to the URL (if you were to use one). What

Same username on SIP & IAX?
Hello,
In setting up * for my company's office and remote employees, I have a
question about how to log one username into * as either a SIP account,
or IAX account. For example, we will be using SIP phones in the office
locally to the * server, however some employees travel, and want to use
IAX (as it's much friendlier with firewall/proxy setups than SIP)
clients on their notebooks.

strange behaviour
Hi all.
Last thursday I've had to restore my customer's pdc from an hdd failure,
and by the evening I restored a full working state of server and
clients, rejoining all of them to the domain.
Next morning the customer called me saying that nothing was working, I
looked the server from remote without finding failures and then I went
there: I found that clients couldn't find the pdc

Getting database config info
Hi folks. I have a very small problem which is probably very simple. But
I''ve scoured the api and the rails book with no luck.
I''m trying to get information about the database definition out of active
record. When I go into console and say
ActiveRecord::Base.connection
I get a MysqlAdapter object, with an instance variable called @config that''s
a hash containing all
