...make Samba force all local authentications to be done
against the domain instead its own (empty) database?
The workaround is to always add the domain when logging in to this
server.
On Mac, when connecting:
smb://domain:user at servername
On PC, when asked for username:
domain\user

Possible bugs:
It is not possible to disable DNS resolutions of Internet hostnames.
The "proxy dns = no" under section [global] in smb.conf does not avoid
this problem.

Securid revisited
I read the thread on securid back in march. openssh doesn't support it
because it's propriatary, right? I understand that, however I've still
got a problem.
Work use securid *exclusively* using ssh2. It uses an authentication
protocol of securid-1 at ssh.com. The client side does *not* need the
securid propriatary stuff, no need for the include files or the library.

Hi, im using a WinXP Pro with samba 2.2.8, i have configured samba
according the the online book - Using Samba, 2ed, O'Reilly &
Associates and the system is generating the following error when i try
