Polynomial Fitting
...the y values are all different. When I compute the y values using the polynomial function by hand, the y values from the Octave plot are returned and not the y values predicted by predict() in R. Can someone explain to me why the values for a function would be different in R? #asset_url helper method
Just putting this out there before I make a pull request. Is there any interest in an asset_url method as a view helper? It would work by using the config.action_controller.asset_host if it exists and prepending this to the results of asset_path. I have found this necessary when writing html emails and needing a full url path for assets. Since my CDN in the asset_host mirrors my assets in my

graphs superimposed on pictures?
Hi: I am doing some work that involves plotting points of interest superimposed on photographs and maps. I can produce the plots fine in R, but so far I have had to do the superimposition externally, which makes it tedious to do exploratory work. I have looked to see if there is some capability to put a background picture on a plot window, but I have not found anything. Advice, anyone? Cheers

ghost 8.x and newer
Hi all, I love syslinux!! It works great. Problem. GHost 8.x and higher... With ghost 7.5 and earlier I was able to boot floppy images from my tftp server. But as you all know Ghost 8.x and higher had a bloated ghost.exe that does not fit on a single 1.44mb floopy image file. Has any one had any luck in getting ghost 8.x and higher to work with syslinux and memdisk? I have tried to create over

indexing lists
Hi List, I'm trying to work out how to use which(), or another function, to find the top-level index of a list item based on a condition. An example will clarify my question. a <- list(c(1,2),c(3,4)) a [[1]] [1] 1 2 [[2]] [1] 3 4 I want to find the top level index of c(1,2), which should return 1 since; a[[1]] [1] 1 2 I can't seem to work out the syntax. I've tried; which(a
