domain name vs ip address causes refresh problem and lowercase vs capitol folder names - how to fix refresh issue?
I have Samba 3.022 and have run into a curious problem - when I access my shared folders over the internet using Windows XP, I get different behavior whether I put the domain name (e.g. \\mydomain.com) versus if I put my direct ip address in (e.g. \\12.34.56.78) when accessing my shares. First, the first screen listing all the shares is in all caps when using the domain name but in lowercase when

Resample and Relay Using Icecast2
Hi Robert, Icecast itself doesn't do any resampling of audio streams it receives. One would likely craft a solution that listens to the original stream and re-encodes on the fly, providing those alternate bitrate streams back to Icecast. I've heard people doing this with liquidsoap and other source clients, and a bit of server-side magic. Some quick Googling provided me with this link

diagonal matrix construction
Hi, I have worked long and hard and looked in the manuals and am having a hard time constructing a diagonal matrix. I can get the diagonals out of a matrix but can't construct the matrix with just the diagonals. I have been on the web site and manuals and I think that it says to use: dsj <- diag (three = 1, nrow, ncol = 7) three is the name of my matrix and

I create the machine account dynamically in my smb.conf by the following line: add machine script = /usr/sbin/useradd -d /dev/null -g 200 -s /bin/false -M %u Now a machine account is created and added to my users (this part works ok) Samba also generates a machine account for samba (I could not find a line for that in my smb.conf) But the

Leroy and I strolled out in the dimming afternoon light for a breath of air and to check out the progress of the colors in preparation for the Museum's annual Fall Colors Stroll.
I happened to be in a Latin American prison, accused of running guns to the freedom fighters. All right, the Capitol Hill officers let down the old side this time. self compiled samba domain member, jessie, pam config
Hi Rowland, Thanks for the very quick reply. :-) On the page you reference (https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Libnss_winbind_links) it says: # smbd -B | grep LIBDIR LIBDIR: /usr/local/samba/lib/ On my install, I need to use lower case b. Capitol doesn't work. Perhaps the wiki needs to be updated? Anyway: I created the symlinks, ldconfig, all seemed to work. Your recipe for

sorting matrix output alphabetically
Hello, I have been using the TM package to create a TermDocMatrix, which I have saved as a matrix so that I can view word frequencies. Below is a section of the code that I have used and an excerpt of the output: What I wanted to be able to do is to view the output alphabetically - rather than the results being sorted by frequency as below, that an alphabetical list would be generated.
