inodes 100% full, how do I know?
How can you know beforehand, without running fsck, that all inodes are used of a particular ext3 filesystem? Default systemtools use output from df, which shows only a 50% usage of the filesystem, and pretend nothing is wrong, while you really cant't move or copy a file to it. So I only found out when running fsck. This is my output from fsck (RH7.2, stock kernel, stock? ext3): root# fsck -f -v /dev/hda1 fsck 1.26 (3-Feb-2002) e2fsck 1.26 (3-Feb-2002) Pass 1: Checking inodes, blocks, and sizes Pass 2: Checking directory structure Pass 3...

Asterisk answering only one (dialed-) Number on a PTMP (German "Mehrgeräteanschluss")?
Hi, please excuse my poor englisch. Is it possible to connect a (privat Test-Asterisk) to my privat ISDN and allow him to only answer one dialed number? We have 3 up to 10 Numbers on each (Euro-)ISDN (2 b-chanels), it cant't be done by the last Digits cause the numbers are completely different. For Example: I have 3 Numbers (641717, 928752....) Is it possible to tell Asterisk (in Extensions.conf?) to Answer 641717 an ignore incomming calls on 928752? I need this solution to work with Asterisk without disconnectin...

Chaining with chain.c32 from syslinux 6.01 error
I just tested 6.02-pre10 version. ? On physsical machine it is booting ok now,?but chain.c32 result is the same errors :? ERR: Primary partition (in MBR) with invalid offset and/or length. ? ERR: Cant't find myself on the drive I booted from Adding 'relax' option to chain.c32 invocation resolves the problem. ? In qemu the boot and chaining works ok (without 'relax' option). ________________________________ From: Matt Fleming <matt at console-pimps.org> To: Adrian Ir...

Login screen changes
...s a minor thing to fix for no real purpose other than to just be doing it. I still get, though, the Tao screens when the graphic login screen appears. I have changed the Application->Settings->Login Screen-> Graphical to Blue Curve. Is there a set of artwork rpms I need or something? I cant't remember, but I think there is something on the original grub splash, also, after rebooting. Not a big deal, but would just like to see if I can tidy this up a bit. disable_plaintext_auth, inetd, localhost, IPv6, and mapped addresses
...strcmp(addr, "::1") == 0); (in (imap-login|pop3-login)/client.c) isn't enough, at least not when running from inetd. The thing is that you will come across ::ffff:127.0.0.1, which is secure, but not covered by the above. I thought I saw someting on this earlier, but in that case I cant't find it now. Samba 4.0.7 PANIC invalid lock_order
Dear all, I'm struggling to get samba 4.0.7 working as a file server. I'm using mac osx 10.8.4 with Excel for Mac 2011 (14.3.6). I'm able to create a new Spreadsheet and to save it with a new name. I'm also able to read it. When I open it and change a few cells, I cant't save it. I have to save it with a new name. I found these lines in log file: 2013/07/23 15:27:12.407416, 0] ../lib/dbwrap/dbwrap.c:133(debug_lock_order) lock order: 1:/usr/local/samba/var/lock/locking.tdb 2:<none> 3:<none> [2013/07/23 15:27:12.407600, 0] ../source3/lib/util.c...

Linksys doesn't resync properly and doesn't get provisioning from TFTP and HTTP
I installed SPA942 and SPA2101, and experimented with TFTP and HTTP provisioning. It all went smooth for many hours. But then all of a sudden it stopped reading configs from both from TFTP and HTTP. Now I am trying to troubleshoot and cant't find the problem. Once in a while, it does read from TFTP and/or HTTP, but then again, stops reading at all. My other phones, i.e. Grandstream and Aastra are throuout working perfectly fine from the same TFTP server. I re-provisioned them and there was no problem. Any idea what is going on...

compute maximum likelihood estimator for a multinomial function
...<-mle2(minuslogl=log.multi,start=list(p.est=p.est),data=list(N=sum(d),d=d)) ########################### I get the error: "Error in dmultinom(x = d, prob = p.est, log = T) : x[] and prob[] must be equal length vectors." And no matter how I tried (and I tried for a looooong time!!) I cant't figure out what the problem is. I'm sure it a very silly mistake but I don't know what it is. I think it must have something to do with how I define the parameters. Could anyone help me with this? Thank you so much in advance Benedikt

multiple plots problem
hello, i try to plot 3 graphs which have the same x.axis underneath each other. i'd like the plots to be aligned without margings between the boxes and draw a single x axis beneath the lowest plot. i managed to get the alignment by setting par(mar), but the middle box is stretched and i cant't figure out how to get around this. par(pin) was my guess, but this doesn't do the job because it seems to be overridden by par(mar). sorry for the long example data, but this was quick at hand.. mydata: ################################################################### ad<-data.fram...

Logon Musings
I'm toying with the idea of writing a Samba-oriented Win95/98/NT logon window. I know it's possible to replace Windows' logon mechanism with another. Novell's Client32 does this. I know there's also standards to make a network service available to Windows' change-password mechanism (so I can fire smbpasswd on the other side). That could be an alternative to establishing
