Adding additional groups to a file.
Hi, I have installed and configured Samba as PDC with Heimdal kerberos and openLDAP as backend for both on debian lenny. But i stuck on groups. I have created a file in my home directory mapped to my documents. I can change rwx permission on linux and windows and it works perfectly. but this file has as a group my default group. this file should be read by users from accounting and managers

Pyogg equivalent for mp3?
...'m unaware of any such module. Anyone know of a python decoder wrapper for MP3s? Closest thing I can find is the python 'PyGame' project, which seems to be a lot more than I need. Ideally this wrapper could function like pyogg, streaming a chunk of the file at a time to ao. Before I cannibalize PyGame... Any tips? Urgent hardware help needed
...memory that you could spare with and get to me quickly, I would really, *really* appreciate it. I would really like to have either 4x512 MB or 2x1 GB in this box. The new hardware is an Athlon 64 3000+ and an Asus A8N-VM CSN motherboard, in case someone is curious. -hpa P.S. The new case (cannibalized from another server donated to me by Penguin computing for RAID-6 testing) has additional slots, so I am also looking to add a couple of WD 3200JD drives to use as backup media.

Capping i/o ops
Hi All, I''ve been trying to get a bit of a grip on disk i/o for our Xen set- up. We''re dealing with server workloads that can, at unexpected times, become seriously io-bound, up to the point that a single guest can cannibalize the available throughput of the fibrechannel array. Since we''re dealing with a shared medium and multiple Xen hosts, I''m looking for a way in to put an upper cap on the number of i/o operations individual guests can perform. Although this is not entirely scientific, it woul...

[lit] RFC: Per test timeout

Large compression test
A large test I ran on flac 1.0 recently finished so I thought I'd post the results. I took about 60 CDs, totalling around 30 gigs uncompressed, and compressed them all using all 10 of flac's default compression modes (-0 through -9). The CDs are of a wide variety of music; I think the only major genres not represented are country and rap (freudian slip). Anyway, the raw numbers: Opt

I do understand there are other plans to do, but this one is truly significant. (PR#8417)
I'm really excited about these deals as we can spend spare cash on a sports car. This place can help us customize the perfect plan in a short time. I learned that we can also (if we want) acquire bucks too. Turns out that we do not have the most optimal loan, but our home is very valuable. I have pored over a lot of websites, and I like this one best. It responds to the applications of leads

Truetype fonts
I am trying to install on a CentOS5 box http://www.mjmwired.net/resources/files/msttcorefonts-2.0-1.noarch.rpm then did an xfs restart, even an alt-ctrl-backspace. The fonts are located in /usr/share/fonts/msttcorefonts/ with the owner root & 644. I can't see them when I go to preferences > fonts. I have another computer with CentOS5, the fonts are installed and I can use them w/o

Large compression test
Interesting figures. Some corresponding figures for flac 1.0 for a set of 404 CDs, with a total of 4357 tracks are: Opt Uncompressed Compressed Ratio Encode Time --- ------------ ----------- ------ ----------- -8 234507744748 127468328349 0.5436 n/a Admittedly, this set includes at least one country album, and has a fair share of jazz in it. The worst-case track in this set

wine.conf newbie problem
...the HOWTO and modified the drive C to /win98 instead of /dos. The problem appears to be related to the .conf setup, but I don't even know how to begin debugging it. I am currently running another copy of wine which has been hacked by IBM to run their 'Homeweaver' software. I tried to cannibalize it's .conf file with no better results..... In addition to the general usefulness of being able to run Windows apps in the event that it is necessary, my immediate goal is to run Outlook. As unpopular as it is, i have searched for an IMAP client on Linux that provides functionality that I lik...

[lit] RFC: Per test timeout
Hi, A feature I've wanted in lit for a while is a having a timeout per test. Attached are patches that implement this idea. I'm e-mailing llvm-dev rather than llvm-commits because I want to gather more feedback on my initial implementation and hopefully some answers to some unresolved issues with my implementation. Currently in lit you can set a global timeout for all of the tests but

cex/col/etc. in title(): documentation? (PR#1136)
There appears to be a mismatch between the documentation and behavior of title(), or at least a clarification is in order. The documentation says you can pass extra arguments from par() as "...". However, cex at least is ignored. Later on in the documentation it becomes clear that you can specify these extra parameters as part of a list. I wouldn't say this is necessarily a bug

yhtml plugin
...ally, the code in the plugins directly is my own, with the exception of the Engines plugin, which is needed for the admin console engine, as well as file_column, which I stuck in the engine to provide future file_column support. The time_select lib that I included in the admin console plugin is cannibalized from a number of sources, but is substantially my own. The yhtml plugin adds a rendering engine based on yaml. Example yhtml ============= NOTE: The controller defines @hello as "- Title" - html: - head: - title: My Title <%= @hello %> - style: | body { font-...

Hosed by 4.2
Hi, I have been using Centos since 3.0. I have been upgrading regularly without any major problem. 4.1 to 4.2 has been a total disaster. I ran yum update, it went through and a couple of hours later I rebooted and X froze with the screen just being just fuzz [regular rectangles, orange, green...] and the keyboard froze. Could not do a alt-ctrl-backspace, nor a Alt-F1-6 nor Alt-Ctrl-Del. I

Services not required?
I''m in the process of locking down as much of my systems here as possible as to available ports. I am down to only a handful but am not sure how much of a security risk they pose and was wondering if anyone here might be able to comment, or suggest secure versions to run: 21/FTP (WU-ftpd v2.4.2 BETA 14) 22/SSH (1.22) 23/TELNET (Netkit 0.09) 25/SMTP (Sendmail
