Katello is just one piece. Satellite 6 also integrates Candlepin, Puppet
and more. What I'm wondering is if the entire set of software -
Satellite 6 as one piece - is going to get a new upstream project.

The Katello project is the whole thing. During installation it pulls in
Foreman, Candlepin, Pulp, Puppet and more.

I went to the github and it doesn't have a packaged release that matches
the version. I managed to find it in the build system logs, but its just
weird.
If I recall, formerly for a tarball to be different than what was on
upstream, it h...

virt-viewer X forwarding through ssh broken since FC17 upgrade?
Ever since I upgraded my laptop from FC15 to FC17, I've been
getting this message when I ssh to some RHEL6 hosts inside Red Hat.
In particular, I'm trying to do this:
virt-viewer --connect \
qemu+ssh://kvm11.devlab.phx1.redhat.com/system \
bork-s01.candlepin.dev.devlab.phx1.redhat.com
This is the message I get:
X11 forwarding request failed on channel 0
A viewer window pops up for a fraction of a second and then
goes away.
Using -vvvv on the local ssh command gives a few possibly
related messages:
debug2: x11_get_proto: /usr/bin/xauth list :0.0...

Satellite 6
Hi Everyone,
Since Satellite 6 is an amalgam of other F/OSS projects and is no longer
solely based on Spacewalk, is a new upstream project for Satellite 6
going to be created? BEtter yet, is a new upstream project already
available?

Hi,
Not seen this one before, but don't play with much python. The SPEC
really should just refer too a URL too a compressed archive as the
packages home site supplies them.
https://github.com/candlepin/python-rhsm/releases

Not able to sync mirror of Centos7 due to CRC checksum errors
...L
The full logs are available here:
https://paste.fedoraproject.org/paste/lPnjaCFD6c~e22FtTedEKA
I was under the impression that maybe somethinig is broken with
katello/pulp and didn't pursue it further.
Today, I attempted to sync it again with standalone pulp server (without
katello/foreman/candlepin bits) and it failed again with same error. I
tried a different mirror location as well, but received the same CRC check
error:
https://paste.fedoraproject.org/paste/O1ocILrTMEWkKDohOmXcaQ
Then to test whether this is a problem with pulp or the upstream mirror, I
decided to try to sync the CentOS6...

spec file frustration (rant)
I'm getting spec files from centos git which is really convenient when
the related source is easy to find. But some things - e.g. from a spec file
# How to create the source tarball:
#
# git clone git://git.fedorahosted.org/git/python-rhsm.git/
# cd client/python-rhsm
# tito build --tag python-rhsm-$VERSION-$RELEASE --tgz
Never used tito before, so I install it and try, and rather than
