FreeBSD 7-STABLE, isp(4), QLE2462: panic & deadlocks
Hello everybody, we recently got three Dell PowerEdge servers equipped with Qlogic QLE2462 cards (dual FC 4Gbps ports) and an EMC CLARiiON CX3-40 SAN. The servers with the FC cards were successfully and extensively tested with an older SUN StorEdge T3 SAN. However, when we connect them to the CX3-40, create and mount a new partition and then do something as simple as "tar -C /san -xf

need technique for speeding up R dataframe individual element insertion (no deletion though)
Hi fellas, I am working on a dataframe cam and it involves comparison within the 2 columns - t1 and t2 on about 20K rows and 14 columns. ### cap = cam; # this doesn't take long. ~1 secs. for( i in 1:length(cam$end_date)) { x1=strptime(cam$end_date[i], "%d/%m/%Y"); x2=strptime(cam$end_date[i+1], "%d/%m/%Y"); t1= cam$vol[i]; t2= cam$vol[i+1];

link_elf: symbol cam_simq_alloc undefined
Hello, I'm trying to upgrade from 5-stable to 6-stable; after rebooting to the new kernel, the amr(4) module (amr.ko) refuses to load with this message: link_elf: symbol cam_simq_alloc undefined However, a quick nm(1) on /boot/kernel/cam.ko does show: ... 0000f0ac T cam_sim_set_path 0000efc4 T cam_simq_alloc 0000efd4 T cam_simq_free ... and cam.ko is already loaded before amr.ko.

[PATCH] pciback: restore PCI BARs on D3->D0 transition
Ever since xen-unstable cset 14308 ("pci back: Fix registration of of filters on subsections of config space") I''ve been getting an MCA on the *2nd* boot of a driver domain using an e1000 NIC. Cset 14308 allowed the proper setup of the PM control registers, so the NIC is put in the D3 power state when the driver domain shuts down. Unfortunately, pci_set_power_state()

CIFS, Kerberos over SSH tunnel (change service principal?)
I'm trying to set up a CIFS mount to a NetApp F840 called 'elmer' over an SSH tunnel. I also tunnel the Kerberos ports to the Windows AD server 'cannonstreet' Using Ubuntu hardy, with recent updates for CIFS that are claimed to work: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/samba/+bug/236830 I tunnel like this: ssh -f -N -x -o TCPKeepAlive=yes -L88:cannonstreet:88

Problem with hidden files
Hello all, I'm working with a CAM package running on Windows 2000 OS (Service Pack 2). This CAM should write its output to Sun Blade 100 workstation with Solaris 8 OS. On the Sun I installed Samba (ver 2.2.2). The output of the CAM is a directory that includes plain ASCII files. Before starting the output, the CAM creates a directory and an empty .lock file inside. When the output is

xen and pci
hello, I''m running XEN 2.0 on IBM ThinkPad T23. Now the weird thing is that I get two different outputs from /sbin/lspci depending on whether I run 2.6.8.1-xen0 or 2.6.8.1-bproc. In particular the output from 2.6.8.1-xen0 seems to be missing those 4 lines 0000:00:01.0 PCI bridge: Intel Corp. 82830 830 Chipset AGP Bridge (rev 02) 0000:00:1e.0 PCI bridge: Intel Corp. 82801BAM/CAM PCI

Using a *supported* web cam under CentOS 5
OK, I plugged in a web cam device (something called a 'Zoomy' -- a web cam/microscope). It is recognized by the unc driver. Now what? Does there exist a program that can use this device? Or do I have to write one from scratch? I have been searching the web, but all of the links are about getting and installing *drivers*. I don't need a driver, I need a userland program. With

testers needed for CAM INVARIANTS fix
I've got a fix for the panic from the cd(4)/da(4) drivers when INVARIANTS is turned on in -stable. The fix is to create a task queue that runs in a thread context and use that to create the sysctl variables needed by cd(4) and da(4). The eventual fix will be to move the CAM transport layer probe code into a kernel thread. Anyway, these patches work for me, but if I could get some feedback

tws bug ? (LSI SAS 9750)
Hi, I have been trying out a nice new tws controller and decided to enable debugging in the kernel and run some stress tests. With a regular GENERIC kernel, it boots up fine. But with debugging, it panics on boot. Anyone know whats up ? Is this something that should be sent directly to LSI ? pcib0: <ACPI Host-PCI bridge> port 0xcf8-0xcff on acpi0 pci0: <ACPI PCI bus> on pcib0

[Colin Watson <cjw44@cam.ac.uk>] Bug#49902: [PATCH] Bug#49902: ssh and pam conspire to deny logins
Hi, Here's a helpful patch from one of our (Debian's) users. I'd guess that the similar if/xfree a few lines above in the #if PAM section could do with the same treatment. Cheers, Phil. --[[message/rfc822]] Date: Sat, 29 Jan 2000 11:11:32 +0000 From: Colin Watson <cjw44 at cam.ac.uk> To: 49902 at bugs.debian.org [Bug was that when sshing one's password is denied,

date_select Year as a text_field
Hey all, Using date_select in a form, how can I make the Year field a text_field instead of a select? It looks like it will take more than a simple modification of the date_select method. Winbind on Samba 3.5.5 (centos5)
Folks, Having some fun with winbind on Samba 3.5.5 on RHEL5 and/or Centos5. I?ve got it working so ssh logins work correctly and file permissions are seemingly correct with created files etc. Backend authentication is from a Win2K3R2 box running RFC2372 extensions (ie not SFU) and all UIDs etc are assigned for the users who need them. However, wbinfo returns some interesting things. We?re in a

XHCI umass support breaks between r248085 and r252560 on 9-STABLE
Three different external hard drives (Seagate, Western Digital and noname USB 3.0 enclosure) refused to be recognized as the umass devices. Reverting /usr/src/sys/dev/bsd/controller to r248085, building and loading just xhci module makes drives appear again. Below are snippets from the log in both cases: Non working: Jul 4 14:35:17 twinhead kernel: xhci0: <XHCI (generic) USB 3.0
