Asterisk as Media Gateway (was: ATT CallVantage & Asterisk)
...#39;s better than nothing. I am considering adding MG capability to the * MGCP stack. Do you or does anyone have an interest in helping with this? --Stewart > Date: Fri, 18 Jun 2004 10:30:15 -0400 > From: "Kubat, Philip" <pkubat@kubat.com> > Subject: [Asterisk-Users] ATT CallVantage & Asterisk > I am trying to connect directly to AT&T VoIP service CallVanage. Asterisk as Media Gateway (was: ATT CallVantage & Asterisk
I am interested. I'm using Callvantage and Centillium TA. I'm also using Asterisk with a X100P Card. Eventually I want to replace this with my Linksys NSLU2. I'm having mystery power issues with my linux server. Currently I have calls from soft and ip phones going to asterisk then out to the ta fxo to fxs. Regular pots...

ATT CallVantage & Asterisk
I am trying to connect directly to AT&T VoIP service CallVanage. I have ATT's ATA (D-Link DVG-1120M). They use mgcp. I have traces of the connects from the Dlink and hoping to setup Asterisk the same. It looks like I need to have Asterisk be a MGCP endpoint (gateway). How do I configure this? Does the mgcp.conf support "register" like sip etc? What is the syntax?

Dlink DVG-1120s and Asterisk
I friend gave me his DVG-1120s after he realized that AT&Ts callVantage stuff would not work for him. It appears to be running a SIP version of firmware, however, it downloads an XML configuration file via SSL from AT&T. I cannot find a way to manually configure the VOIP portion of the unit via the GUI. I contacted D-Link to get an example configuration file s...

Flashing DVG-1120M to DVG-1120S
So, I recently acquired an old DVG-1120M that was previously used with AT&T CallVantage service. It currently uses MGCP. I see online that there is a SIP version out there (DVG-1120S), which is essentially a DVG-1120M reflashed with the SIP firmware and the 'M' scraped off in favor of an 'S'. I've also seen people on this list saying that they flashed their M with...

Asterisk for a large scale implementation
I am looking at Asterisk for a large scale implementation. I was wondering if anyone had any experience (that's code for nice things or not so nice things to say about it) with Asterisk for 50k plus users. Feel free to reply to me directly or back to this list (if it's appropriate. I'm not sure what the proper netiquette is). Thanks in advance... Harry

New ENUM service, what do you think?
Stealth Communications Announces Registry to Avoid Access Fees Posted on: 04/23/2004 Stealth Communications Inc. today announced the official launch of a registry that allows service providers routing calls over the Internet to avoid paying local phone companies access charges. The VPF ENUM Registry allows carriers to map telephone numbers to IP addresses for such things as SIP phones and

Recommendations on a WiFi phone for *?
We're getting our feet more and more wet with VOIP at work. We want to experiment with a good wireless (as in WiFi) phone. What would be a good phone to impress my boss with? I'm personally drooling over the UTStarcom F3000, but compatibility and shipping ETA info is a bit sketchy. Phil

Spring VON Wrap Up
...e display. Many thanks to Mark and Greg who let all of us gather and (I hope) help pitch Asterisk and Digium. [Retraction (Steve Eats Crow)] I would like to retract a statement I made in an earlier report from the show. After sitting through two presentations by AT&T, both pitching their new CallVantage service, I indicated that VON had become Infomercial Central. I copied Carl Ford from Pulver.com on my message (he was acting as MC for the sessions). He quickly replied to my message, and the crux of his message was correct: the technology is largely in place. The next few years will be about m...
