R-BiocFileCache is now branched for f32 (finally). You should be able to build it if/when the PDC comes back up. Lotta random outages right now. Tom On Mon, Jul 6, 2020 at 10:40 AM Jos? Installing R on RedHat EL 5
Hi, I am totally new to Linux and trying to install R and related tools. I downloaded the rpm files for el4/x86_64 from the CRAN repository and tried to run rpm but it did not go through complaining about dependencies. Do all the listed rpm files need to be installed? What is the order in which these need to be installed? I appreciate any help with this or any suggestions for alternate ways

R 4.0.0 rebuild status
Over the last several days, I've been working hard to get all of the Fedora R packages rebuilt against R 4.0 in rawhide (in the F33-R-4 side tag). With the exception of R-biomaRt, R-BSgenome, R-GenomicAlignments, and R-rtracklayer, I believe everything is built and updated to the latest versions. And of those packages, they're all ready to go when Fedora infrastructure is working reliably

Security issue with javareconf script (PR#12636)
Full_Name: Tom Callaway Version: 2.7.2 OS: Fedora 10 (Linux/x86_64) Submission from: (NULL) (96.233.67.230) Recently, Debian identified a security issue with the javareconf script in R. I confirmed that this is still unfixed in R 2.7.2. The following patch resolves the issue: diff -up R-2.7.2/src/scripts/javareconf.BA...

Fedora 29 upgrade: texlive-scheme-medium may depend on R (texlive-includernw)
...s something only the > Fedora texlive packager has mis-understood. Texlive packages don't require anything at build time, so Andreas has nothing to do with this issue. The description of his package claims that R and knitr are required at run time, so the Fedora packager (Tom 'spot' Callaway, in CC now) had to take a decision: either to avoid non-texlive dependencies, which results in a broken installation (texlive-includernw won't work without R), or to be more user-friendly and install all the required run time dependencies. Tom took the second path, as he did too with texlive-g...
