Timer
Hello, This might be a very basic question but I was not sure how to go about it. I just wanted to calcluate the time it takes to run my program. Basically I was to put a timer at the start and the end of the program in order to see how much time it takes to give the output (similar to tic-tac in MATLAB) . Any help will be appreciated. Thanks, Suman [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

String.protoype.toQueryParams
Hi, I am trying to play with all the methods in the Array Object. Just wanted to check with you guys if this is the correct explanation of toQueryParams(). If yes, then I''ll add it to the documentation as well. Works for me (but I am not sure if it''s the correct way to use it). /* String.prototype.toQueryParams takes a query string, i.e, string with name value pairs

automatic levels
...colon spearated file with read.csv2, containing one column of rownames and one column of floating point numbers. When I look at the column of data with framename$columnname, I get the values of the column plus level values. Are these level values created automatically ? The problem is when I try to calcluate the correlation coefficient between this set of data and another with lm(x~y), the result indicates that each level seems to have been used as independent variable, making my results unusable. How can I suppress the automatic creation of these levels ? Or how can I model with lm() without the leve...

Need help on the Lasso cox model with discrete time
...t a Lasso-cox model with discrete time. We conducted follow-up examinations on the epileptic attack after tumor surgical resection among glioma patients. The patients are followed-up in the 6/12/24 months after surgical resection, which makes the epilepsy-free time discrete (6/12/24 months). We calcluated many features from the T2-images collected prior to surgical resection. We aimed to used the image features to conducted a cox proportional hazards analysis on the epilepsy-free time by R. Hereby, We have three questions: 1. Is the cox proportional hazards analysis appropriate for our study...
