subsetting a list of matrices

removing message: [Previously saved workspace restored]
...e does not appear if I start R from any other place in the directory tree. logical subsetting, indexes and NAs

vectorisation suggestion
...r2 = made up of a number of repetitions of all the elements of vector1 vector3 = a vector of NAs that is meant to get the result of the counting My problem is that vector1 is about 60000 terms, and vector2 is 620000... can anyone suggest a faster code than the one I wrote? writing summary() to a text file
...text file, legible as a such. The function produces a summary quite like: summary(lm(x ~ y + w * z)) [for instance] and I am not clear how to save this summary into a text file 'automagically', because I need to be able to do it in a for() loop. ...have somewhere a function that took as arguments something like (data, breaks, what to do with the data in the bins). I surey could not find it trawling the R-help archives though. predicting memory usage
Hi All, is there a way of predicting memory usage? I need to build an array of 86000 by 2500 numbers (or I might create a list of 2 by 2500 arrays 43000 long). as.matrix and one row

tiff() woes
...see that setting the resolution very high (as for the forst example) might not work, but the *windows only* failure of the second example is strange. barplot ignoring col parameter

'less' for R?
Hi All, is there an equivalent of the Unix command 'less' (or 'more'), so I can look at what's inside a data.frame or a matrix without having it printed out on console? fitted.values less than observed values
...mber of unique lines in the dataset. Is there a way to have the fitted values match the observation, even though some are duplicated and so have the same fitted value? fisher information matrix
