file_column plugin. Storing files outside RAILS_ROOT
...e no problems in storing the files by setting :root_path option. But I can''t get to display these images using ''url_for_file_column''. What I get instead of the image is simply the filename. Is this a bug in the plugin or am I not using it properly? Thanks in advance, Cagan -- Posted via http://www.ruby-forum.com/.

where to define a struct
...If not, what''s the alternative. Also, what''s the best place to define classes that are neither controllers nor models? 2) if struct definition in environment.rb is the proper place to define a struct, how can I get my controller to know what a UserInfo is? Thanks in advance. Cagan -- Posted via http://www.ruby-forum.com/.

text_field_with_auto_complete problem
...d. I suspect this to be a css issue but I tried every combination and nothing seems to work. I also defined the div.auto_complete etc styles as they are by default in my css file. If anyone had a similar problem or knows what the fix is, I would definitely appreciate the help. Thanks a lot, Cagan -- Posted via http://www.ruby-forum.com/.

difference between @secure_password, secure_password
..._password... Let''s forget that..If secure_password contains the encrypted value as I see on the console, why would secure_password = User.encrypt(password) call not do what I expect it to do? Obviously, I''m pretty confused about the usage of @ vs. non-@, self, etc.. Thanks, Cagan -- Posted via http://www.ruby-forum.com/.

losing validation error messages
...ed in the home/ index.rhtml. My guess is during the redirect, the error messages get lost as they are not flashed.. Two questions: am I doing this correctly (meaning having user_controller redirect to home controller) and second how can I get the error messages to display properly? Thanks, Cagan
