Can I "upgrade" a striped pool of vdevs to mirrored vdevs?
Hi,
once I created a zpool of single vdevs not using mirroring of any kind. Now I wonder if it''s possible to add vdevs and mirror the currently existing ones.
Thanks,
budy

c0d0 is the rpool.
c6d1 is a 1.5TB drive connected to a Sil3114 controller (backup1 pool)
c3t0-c3t3 are the 4 x 750GB drives connected to the motherboard ports.
As you can see from the iostat above, c3t1d0 is acting differently....

A few Newbie questions about RAIDZ
1. I have a 4x18GB drive setup as RAIDZ. Now when thinking about it
in terms of RAID5 I would expect to get (4-1)x18 worth of drive
space, but DF -h shows 4x18. Is this a bug or do I not understand?
2. Once again thinking in RAID5 terms if I have 4X18GB and 12X9GB
drives and I want to make a RAIDZ of all of them I would expect the
18GB to be treated at 9GB so the RAIDZ would be 16X9GB. Is

Fileserver performance tests
...e.
I installed the latest Solaris 10 on a x4200 with 8gig of ram and two Sun SAS controllers, attached two sas-jbods with 8 SATA-HDDs each und created a zfs pool as a raid 10 by doing something like the following:
zpool create zfs_raid10_16_disks mirror c3t0d0 c4t0d0 mirror c3t1d0 c4t1d0 mirror c3t2d0 c4t2d0 mirror c3t3d0 c4t3d0 mirror c3t4d0 c4t4d0 mirror c3t5d0 c4t5d0 mirror c3t6d0 c4t6d0 mirror c3t7d0 c4t7d0
the i set "noatime" and ran the following filebench tests:

root at sun1 # ./filebench

Is there anybody here who''s using ZFS on Apple XRaids and serving them
via NFS? Does anybody have any other ideas what I could do to solve
this? (I have, in the mean time, conve...
