USB blues

motherboard/chipset?
The system is built based on the SUPERMICRO MBD-X9SCM-F-O available here:

According to the OS compatibility matrix, the most recent CentOS 6.5 is
supported:

and all yum updates have been applied.
I have the output of /var/log/messages since the last reboot here:

Notes: Everything was working after the boot. Devices read/wrote fine.
ata9.00 HD errors are known, it's the old ATA O/S drive.

100% load on core after physically removing USB storage from host
...no significant activity.
This also prompted me to look at the other physical machine from which
I used the USB flash drive to transfer files. And it was also
exhibiting the same problem.
Installed versions are
qemu-kvm-0.12.1.2-2.209.el6_2.5.x86_64
on CentOS 6.2, 2.6.32-220.17.1.el6.x86_64 (Intel C204 PCH)
There are no error messages in the log files and things seem to be
working except for the fully loaded core.
After some testing, the only steps needed are
1. VMM add physical host usb device -> select storage to guest
2. VMM remove hardware
3. Physically remove the USB storage from the ho...

Problem detecting Sil3124 SATA controllers off of Sandy Bridge northbridge-connected PCIe slots
Hi,
We're having some trouble with detection of a couple of Sil3124 SATA
controller cards on newer motherboard and processor combos.
Specifically, we're running a Supermicro X9SCM-F motherboard (latest
BIOS) and Intel E3-1220v2 CPU.
What we're seeing:
- Syba Sil3124 PCIe cards are only being detected when installed in PCIe
