Upgrading 3.0alpha -> 3.0.0.rc2, error C000019b for old users only
...erl script .../examples/LDAP/convertSambaAccount.
I made a backup of my old samba dir (/usr/local/samba) and installed
the new one to this location. Copied the old smb.conf to
/usr/local/samba/lib.
So far, so good. Trying to log on from any of the NT4 machines in the
lab I am getting the error C000019b blah blah. The FAQ suggests
rejoining the machines to the domain, so I tried that on one machine.
This works not quite as I expected: Users I added after the upgrade can
log on without any problems, but the old users (Administrator, in
particular!) are still getting error C000019b.
As I unders...

Samba 2.2.7a as PDC with LDAP: c000019b error code
...ticate and use their shares.
But they can not *always* log into the domain from NT4.0 workstations.
Sometimes yes, sometimes after the eighth or more try, sometimes not at all.
Regardless what machine or what user or what day of week. The error code is
always the same "...cannot log you on...(C000019b)". In the cases where it
works, everything runs all normal. Domain logon, scripts, even password
change with LDAP (great thing by the way). There is no visible difference in
setup of any component between the cases where it works and the ones where
it doesn't.
I did the (I suppose...) nor...

Problems after changing operating system and versions
...ear all,
we have been using samba as PDC with ldap for over a year without any
problems. Now we are trying to switch to a another operating system
version and another samba version and have big problems with
our windows clients (NT, 2000 and XP). Some have problems logging on
to the domain (error C000019B), others give the net helpmsg 3678
(problems saving profile) and/or the netlogon script and profile is not
properly executed. Strangely a few seem to work just fine!
Old version:
SuSE 8.0
samba 2.2.4
openldap 2.0.23
New version:
United Linux with SP 1+2 (and SP2 hotfix)
samba 2.2.5-178

My PDC is samba+openldap+nss+pam+smbldaptools
All work fine (posix account and logins in Win9x workstations)
I can join in to my domain with WinNT4 but i can't login!
Im get always this message: The system can not log you on (C000019B). Please
try again or consult your system administrator.
I have read the documents about this error around inet but, all docs tell

Samba 3.x and PCNetLink domain trusts]]
...-t" and "wbinfo -m" indicate that the domains
are trusted. Also, I can run "net rpc samdump" to dump the NT4 domain
info (but not the PCNL domain.)
If I try to log in to the NT4 server as a Samba user (who has been added
to the local users group) I get an error "C000019B" - which is seems to
be a Samba error (not a microsoft error) suggesting a SID (and possibly
winbindd?) error.
