design question - multiple form resubmit problem.
Hello, My question has to do with a form resubmit problem. Say for example a form is submitted and within that form, a picture is uploaded. If the user presses the Back buttom and gets back to the form submission sheet, and then clicks on resubmit, once again, the same data is populated into my tables wasting space (another picture upload for no reason in a separate row). Now, I know there are multiple ways of solving this issue, but where''s the best place to ta...

problems with plots in loop (corrected Email)
Dear helpers, In an attempt to use a loop to generate graphs in a for loop in run into a problem. The plan is to fill each page with eight graphs (mfrow = c(4,2)) in to two columns. Only the buttom graphs ( meaning every fourth graph) have tick labels on the x axis to preserve space. I used an if .... Else statement to achieve that. The problem is that the first eight graphs are skipped when I run the loop, the other graphs are fine. However, all graphs can be generated individually. Th...

Offline files enabled clients are loosing network drives
Hello, since the update to Samba 3.0.25b Clients which have offline files enabled - typically notebooks - are sporadical loosing their network drives. In the samba logs I see: "read_data: read failure for 4 bytes to client 192.168.1.58. Error = Connection timed out" After a new login the client can connect again to the shares again, but after some minutes of work the same thing

UTF-8 & Hebrew
Sorry if this is offtopic. My Win32 comment editor uses a routine of my own to read comments directly from OGG files but uses vorbiscomment.exe to write comments. I've implemented a UTF-8 function which I found on the internet to decode UTF-8. It appears to be working fine for most European characters, however, I have a Russian user using WinXP who is entering Hebrew characters such as

scriptaculous & sortables/draggables scrolling?
Re, Would anyone happen to know how to make sortable/draggable scroll down the page while moving the object if the page happens to be larger than the screen size? These functions seem to work only within the visible working space. Right now I have workaround whereby I have an omnipresent DIV on the screen to which I drop an element, then scroll down in the browser to a certain point, and then

[RFC/PATCH] ssh: config directive to modify the local environment
...a sshfs based on the host by the mux master via LocalCommand. I have a default of 'mount the remote home at ~/Remotes/<host>' but I can add more mount directives based on individual hosts. The LocalEnvMod directive is cumulative and are exectuted in one file in order (ie. from top to buttom), but in reverse order of file parsing. That is directives in ~/.ssh/config are executed after /etc/ssh/ssh_config but command line directives (-oLocalEnvMod=) will be executed last. If there are security concerns what variables are allowed to change, we could use a blacklist (HOME, SHELL, ... com...

interpolation
Dear R-users, I have a complex line by xy-values (ordered by z). And I would like to get interpolated y-values on the positions of x = 0:600. How do I get the correct points? x=c(790,790,790,790,790,786,783,778,778,766,763,761,761,761,715,628,521,350,160,134,134,129,108,101,93,111,161,249,288,243,139,45,7)
