(Resend) Trouble with all linux sip softphones.... And asterisk/linphone/kphone SRPMs
...n. Sorry for the extra bandwidth! John Hi, I've been messing with getting SIP working for days now, with limited success. I've got Asterisk set up on a remote server with the echo test. Please try it out to verify I've got the server working right: sip:robot at nixon.butchwax.com Running FC1, ThinkPad T22, headset thru the soundcard. Asterisk is asterisk-1.0_RC1. No NAT. The phones I've tried so far are as follows. ** Linphone: Check out my SRPM at http://www.bigu.org/SRPMS/ Sound is fine. Doesn't seem to pick up anything from the microphone, though. *...

Another small suggestion patch
It's nice to be able to define the list of asterisk modules we want to load from the /etc/sysconfig/zaptel file rather than directly in /etc/init.d/zaptel. I'm using nufone and don't require anything but the ztdummy (is the rtc-based module better, anyone?), so that's what I've put here. These are based on zaptel-1.0-RC1. ~1 sec delay from callee answering to call established on dialout
Hi, I've been using Asterisk (now version 1.2.4) for quite a while, and I'm trying to switch from POTS lines to a VOIP termination service. I've had this problem with a few services I've tried, so the problem must be on my end. Here's what I see: When dialing out, I hear rings, and the call connects. But by the time the call connects, the callee has already said

to china: good voip service providers?
Dear list, I've been looking for a voip service provider with inexpensive and high- quality call service to China. However, the providers I've tried (voipjet, exgn, voxee) all have long to super-long latencies on calls to China. Has anyone found a service with good connections to China? Please share! John PS: I'm trying out this 'didww.com' service for the first time
