SELinux in CentOS 6
It keeps butting in when I try to install map software from Garmin under Wine. I'm not nearly competent not willing to apply the remedy it suggests. How do I get to someplace where I can disable it, or at least set it to permissive?

Complete Linux newbie!
...tty much the same with Linux - first mistake! Anyway, I'm hoping that someone will be able to give me some REALLY simple instructions in how to get Wins installed - I've downloaded wine-20041019-SuSELinux81.i586.rpm and believe that I have installed the package correctly through YaST - but what now? I have genuinely read through the readme and have tried to make sense of the HowTo's buts I guess I am just one of those slow-to-convert-from-Windows kinda guys! Any help would be very greatly appreciated! Cheers Allan

ices file name problem
I have a collection fo mp3s that I wish to stream. They came from a windows environment and when ripped they used spaces in the files names. Help in starting spamassassin
I have installed spamassassin, per the instructions on Scalix's wiki, and it is working, with some important caviats. So I asked for help on the spamassassin user list, and got some, but I think I am butting up against some Centos specific issues... Define 6.1 and 7.1 channel mappings
Tim's proposal seems reasonable but it conflicts with the FLAC documentation that says the channel ordering follows SMPTE/ITU-R recommendations. I think we may be butting up against an area where the standards aren't clear. ITU-R BS.2159-4 (http://www.itu.int/dms_pub/itu-r/opb/rep/R-REP-BS.2159-4-2012-PDF-E.pdf) doesn't def...

Fedora change that will probably affect RHEL

Actually it does. There is no more obvious head butting than with strong passwords vs usability. Strong login passwords and usability are diametrically opposed. tracking user activity - Active Directory
...a specific off-hours time frame. My logs for that time frame happened to be running at debug level 3, so I have been looking through them and trying to figure out how to recognize a workstation login. I find lines beginning with auth_check_password_send that seem like reasonably good candidates, but I have a number of other services such as email authenticating against the AD, and it seems that is just as likely to describe a mail log in as it is a workstation login. Is there a way, or some documentation that will explain how, to parse the log files and determine which workstations were activ...

Redhat vs Mandrake.
My thoughts on this after reading Steven's very politically worded reply is that IMO your best bet would be to go with RedHat, I am not going to go into details about the if's, when's, why's, and but's.. I am running Asterisk quite well on RedHat 9 and if you like I have created an install guide for setting up an Asterisk box on RedHat 9 which I can send to you if you are interested.. The guide could probably be applied to almost any distro with a little thought and common sense thrown in...

I am butting in here, but if these extra bytes are harmless then shouldn't this be a warning, not an error? I had a similar problem years ago with acoustic data. The data files were mounted from a computer running VMS using NFS. When viewed on a UNIX machine, the files had extra data after the (UNIX)...
