Speex on M3 for a device for a disabled person to use
Hi Tristan,
well... if speed is really his problem (and looking at those 72 MHz it
probably is), wouldn't Speek surpass Opus by far?
I agree that Opus is way better, but it's sadly also using more resources...
But yeah, Richard you should give Opus a try if possible ;) It's
generally easier to use then Speex and also more feature rich.
Yours sincerely,
Ren? Sch?mann

Memory leak
I am using Asterisk 16.30 inside Freepbx, with commercial modules, purchased
from Sangoma and Symphony. After a few hours my memory usage reaches 900 GB,
no kidding, in a box with 1 TB of RAM. The question is: how can I determine
what is causing the memory leak? Can somebody send me instructions to find
out what module is killing my box? FreePBX is 100% updated.
Before I contact a vendor I need

Hi Honies! I'm home!
Many of you may have seen the recent announcement about Danny Windham
coming on as the new CEO of Digium. This is one of the most exciting
things to happen to Digium and to Asterisk at large. When Danny comes on
board, I will be transitioning to the role of Chief Technical Officer
(retaining my position of chairman of the board of directors), providing
strategic vision for the company as

[LLVMdev] Emotional responses to feedback
Earlier this year I was lucky enough to have the chance to
speak with a very successful businessman at the top of his
niche, and I asked him, "Clearly you have a formula for
success, what is it?"
He told me his secret. He said that every month they pull a
name out of a bucket, and that person must then prepare a 20
minute presentation explaining why one of their COMPETITOR'S

Make check failure on clone from 31 January
Hi,
Apologies if this is a known issue, but running make on revision e3187444692195957eb66989622c7b1ad8448b06 fails one of the tests when using fixed point configuration (floating point is ok) on my linux x86.
Note that libopus1.1, as extracted from the tar ball, is OK.
Specifically, the tests that fail are in celt/tests/test_unit_mdct:
nfft=32 inverse=0,snr = 85.341197
nfft=32 inverse=1,snr =

crash on lpc_restore_signal_16_intrin_sse2
Hi,
VLC recently migrated to libflac 1.3.1, however we had to revert to
1.3.0 as we had crashes for most FLAC files on the Windows desktop
platform.

Username mapping
Hello.
We're using dovecot with mysql for authentication, with postfixadmin for
the admin web interface.
We are moving users from passwd file usernames to email at domain style logins.
Is there a better way to allow both sets of usernames (old and new) to
work with dovecot than by adding extra copies of rows to the mailboxes
table and changing the username? i.e. does dovecot support some

[PATCH] float_cast: Fix MSVC ARM build
_WIN32, WIN32, WIN64, and _WIN64 are the wrong definitions to be gating
this on in the first place. They aren't at all meant to be x86/x86-64
specific. At best, they're 32-bit/64-bit specific, but that's not the
intended use in the code. The correct definitions are _M_IX86 and _M_X64,
as Martin said.
I sent a patch to this ML that fixed these a few months ago but it was

Stoking a Religious War: Why Did You Go With Puppet Over Other Options?
Hi, Gang..
The Subject: line says it all. My organisation is looking at
selecting a configuration management
system. Any comments about why you chose Puppet over other options
would be very helpful to us.

off-topic question: Latex and R in industries
Latex and R are really cool stuff. I am just wondering how they are
used in industry. But based on my own experience, very rare. Why?
How about the opinion of other listers? Thanks.

*** Asterisk Summer News: Forget numbers, dial by domain!
Welcome to a new issue of Asterisk Summer News!
The holiday season is coming to an end here in Sweden, people are
getting back to work and the kids will start going to school next week.
Life is slowly adopting to normal and I have to start dressing more
towards a businessman than a beach bum. Guess I have to start going
to the gym again as well. Anyway, back to the topic. Asterisk and
VoIP.

Digium FXO Card
Hi,
I wish to know if GNUGk can work with * running as a gateway with the Digium
FXO card.
Kindly share your experiences in case there are some issues which one must
know before going in for such a setup.
Also, I've been reading about the DialTone detection capability by the
hardware in different countries. What are the issues with it?
Thanks & Regards,
Deepak

Can this be done?
I currently have a 7x1.5tb raidz1.
I want to add "phase 2" which is another 7x1.5tb raidz1
Can I add the second phase to the first phase and basically have two
raid5''s striped (in raid terms?)
Yes, I probably should upgrade the zpool format too. Currently running
snv_104. Also should upgrade to 110.
If that is possible, would anyone happen to have the simple command
