Gluster consulting
Yeah, unfortunately that's all that have come forward as available. I
think the demand for gluster expertise is just so high and the pool of
experts so low that there's nobody left to do consulting work.

Gluster consulting
Hi,
Can anyone suggest any companies or other that do Gluster consulting?
I'm looking for guidance on on configuration, best practices, trouble
shooting, etc.
Any guidance is greatly appreciated.

in Europe. Ideally, it would be easier for us to work in a closer time
zone (PST) to have better overlap during business hours.
If nothing else is available I understand, I just want to see if anyone
knew of other options.
Thanks again,
HB

Are you still facing tiering errors ?
I can see your response to Alex with the disk space consumption and found
it a bit ambiguous w.r.t. state of affairs.

rsync ingest to new storage environment
All,
I am seeding a new storage environment (Glusterfs on XFS) and would like to
gather advise on best practices. This data is primarily all media data, so
not good with compression.
I currently have made one pass on at 20TB directory tree into the
environment as:
- nfs mount from old storage to new storage
- rsync -av /old/storage/* /new/storage/directory
Once the directories and files were

If possible, a *gluster volume info* would also help, instead of going to
and fro with questions.

If you did rsync ... /old/storage/dir /new/storage/dir then you made
/new/storage/dir/dir and duplicated everything into it. The correct
syntax is rsync ... /old/storage/dir/ /new/storage/dir OR rsync ...
/old/storage/dir /new/storage

gluster tiering errors
All,
I am new to gluster and have some questions/concerns about some tiering
errors that I see in the log files.
OS: CentOs 7.3.1611
Gluster version: 3.10.5
Samba version: 4.6.2
I see the following (scrubbed):
Node 1 /var/log/glusterfs/tier/<vol>/tierd.log:

samba performance & ACL behavior
All,
I am building a glusterfs environment for file storage and need to use
ACL's. The CentOS system is joined to AD. We have ingested data into the
Gluster environment at /toplevel.

Glusterfs: 3.10.5
Samba: 4.4.4

rsync connection/transfer error
Hi All,
I am somewhat new to rsync and am looking for some guidance. I've been using
it successfully for a couple months syncing CentOS updates from a university
mirror with the following specs:
rsync version 2.6.8 protocol version 29
rsync -artv rsync://mirrors.usc.edu/centos/5.6/updates/i386/RPMS/--exclude=debug/
/var/www/html/centos/5/updates/i386
Everything works fine for this connection
