[LLVMdev] ADDE on HW that doesn't have flags?
...think should happen is flags need to be less of a hack.
There are two cases, instruction ordering/binding uses, and hidden
dataflow uses. Modeling flags as registers on processors that have
flags is not something I am qualified to speak on (though I suspect it
would put an unnecessary compuational burdon on the scheduler and RA,
esp on x86), but seperating control and dataflow flags so that an arch
can say dataflow flags are always registers would let legalize know
that addc was <int, dataflowflag> and that on the arch dataflowflag ==
register, so it could handle fixing up the types to <in...

[LLVMdev] ADDE on HW that doesn't have flags?
Thanks - that solves both problems.
In the future, HW may have built in ADDE support, but will likely
still not have flags - it'll just read 3 registers and write two.
Any thoughts there?
Thanks,
Dan

[LLVMdev] RFC: Plugable intrinsics
...d external
intrinsics rather than failing on unknown intrinsics. This souldn't
slow the processing of builtin intrinsics.
This is the high level idea. I have more concrete implementation ideas,
but this should suffice for purposes of initial discussion. I think
this would greatly reduce the burdon of using LLVM in smaller context
like research and make it much easier to try out extentions before
considering them for inclusion in LLVM.
I have talked to several people (both in my group and out) who maintain
out of tree intrinsics and they univerally think this would be a good
idea :)

High CPU on multiple syncs on Win2K
...server, a seperate Rsync.exe is spawned. Each Rsync uses up to
20% CPU util. Obviously, the machine is constantly running at 100% CPU. Not
desireable, since I want to add yet another 30 sites!
Do you people think that if we would use a Linux server instead of a Win2K
server, the CPU would be less burdoned?
Thx already!

Filtering it one time is one thing.
Potentially acting on that filter 100 or so times a day...
That's completely another.

when the VG resides on different devices. Or try to make a snapshot in another VG
because the devices the source of the snapshot resides on don?t have enough free
space.
LVM lacks so much flexibility that it is more a cumbersome burdon than anything else.
I have lost a whole VM when I tried to copy it, thanks to LVM. It was so complicated
that the LV somehow vanished, and I still don?t know what happened. No more LVM.

OggPCM version / header finalization
Hi John, all,
I still have at least 3 issues:
1) What are we trying to achieve with the "source-ID"?
8 [uint] Source ID (Unique amongst all OggPCM streams in the physical stream)
Are we trying to separate the different channels that may be interleaved with each other inside the flat multi-channel sample stream?
Interpretation 1:

So, would each channel be in a

Re: RedHat 5.X Security Book
[mod: This discussion has been going on "offline" with an occasional
CC to linux-security. By the time I got around to do another
"moderation round" this one was the latest. Everyone is keeping good
context, so I think you all will be able to follow the discussion. --REW]

Changing the subject since this is rather Btrfs specific now.
