How to map locked user Administrator in AD domain to guest ?
...nt use Samba shares that are guest allowed and can't do that while logged in as Administrator. If Administrator is unlocked - option map to guest on bad password is working perfect. Is there a way to say, that user Administrator must be guest even if it is locked ? With best regards Martynas Buozis

Samba, ADS and "Failed to verify incoming ticket!"
Hello I have Samba that joined Windows 2003 based ADS. At least "net ads testjoin" and "net rpc testjoin" gives that "Join is OK". Alas clients can't connect to Samba server. In a log I see following messages : [2005/04/08 14:51:41, 0] tdb/tdbutil.c:(725) tdb(/web/opt/etc/smbprivate//secrets.tdb): tdb_lock failed on list 2 ltype=2 (Resource temporarily

Disable winbindd authentication while keep winbindd running
Hello I have samba 3.0.13 running in ADS mode. For some specific reason I want to disable winbindd authentication while I want winbindd keep running. If I understood right - option "auth methods" would help to do that. But I am not sure if this will not break existing services : auth methods = guest sam All users that authenticate are created locally in /etc/passwd file. Can anybody

Persistent SPOOLSS_ADDPRINTEREX commands from Windows NT 4.0 computers
Hello I need some advice from gurus. I identified several Windows NT computers, that are persistently trying to access my samba server. They are connecting to IPC$ with NULL information both in password and username fields. Below you will find excerpt from samba log file. My questions would be following. What is SPOOLSS_ADDPRINTEREX ? Can it be some kind of worm ? If yes, how I can catch it

samba, pam, kerberos
Hello I want use stand alone samba server 3.0.0 on Solaris 8 box. We have users configure locally, but authentication is done via Kerberos server. I expected to deal with samba installation quite easy, but got stuck. As I understood from documentation - there are two ways how to do that : 1. Install pam authentication. Well this works fine from samba side. Alias - it requires password

Two smbd daemons and clustered environment
Hello I have a question about running two SMBD daemons on one host. Background for this request is Samba failover in parallel services mode. The actual requirement is to start Samba processes bind to specific IP address. This can be done by specifying following parameters in smb.conf file : interfaces = 192.168.100.1/24 bind interfaces only = yes But nmbd process always is

Hello I have interesting problem, that I can't resolve. I am running Samba 3.0.14a under Solaris 10 x86. Server is domain member, winbind is used for authentication, ACL's are supported. Problem that I see is, that I can rename and delete files using smbclient program (connecting "smbclient \\server\share pass -U user") from same or other Unix box. When I try do same from

pam_smbpass can't find password database
Hello Sorry for disturbing again. It looks like I must pass lot of compilation issues to force pam_smbpass working. And I don't believe, that nobody faced same problems as I do, because I am using quite trivial configuration without success, so maybes somebody can share experience with pam_smbpass under Solaris or help me identify what's wrong with it ? So finally I wrote my own pam
