Re: Question on Belkin UPS
...on 29 Nov 2005 that these
models work with the "belkin" driver of the NUT software
(http://www.networkupstools.org/). This is for the serial port. For
USB, the NUT "newhidups" driver should work (or if it does not, we can
fix it).
The software that Belkin includes is the "Bulldog" software. They do
offer a Linux version, but it is not included on the CD that comes
with their products (one can download it from their website). This
software controls and monitors the UPS (and it can also shut down the
computer if there is a power failure). I have found the Bulldog

Any update on Belkin F6H350 UNV support?
This model is available in AU/NZ and can work as USB or serial. It uses
the cutdown Bulldog software that comes with the cheaper serial based
belkin models, and they don't officially support the USB mode under Linux.
Anyone managed to get this working with NUT using either serial or USB?
I'd really like to get the extra functionality of the NUT tools vs the
very simple setup o...

OT UNIX grep question
Dear R People:
I want to use the "grep" command in UNIX/Linux to check
some words from the dictionary.
Let's say I use:
grep dog /usr/share/dict/words
and I get back
bulldog
dog
dogged
and so on.
How could I just get back "dog" with the grep command please?
Thanks,
Sincerely

graphing help: line runs off top of graph
Hi,
See the files at
http://bulldog.duhs.duke.edu/~faheem/R/
Usage is
$ Rscript memgraph.R meminfo.csv
Output is meminfo.pdf. As you can see, one of the lines (blue) runs off
the top of the graph. Can anyone suggest a way to avoid this happening?
Please CC me on any reply. Thanks in advance....

isn't low at any stage, as other UPSs have not reported a loss of power.
This behaviour has only started occurring since using NUT rather than
Belkin Bulldog (not supported on FreeBSD x64).

Re: Question on Belkin UPS
Hi Ashley,
yes, try the newhidups driver. It should work. If there are problems,
we can improve the driver. -- Peter

Anacron IS installed it is just that....
You have to have a system running for more than 65 minutes for it to run
the daily cron jobs.
And if this is a test system that you keep rebooting. Well.
So if I want /var/log/rpmpkgs to get updated, I have to wait until the
next day an keep the system up for a bit more than 65 minutes. Actually
a quite reasonable requirement.
Add this to my 'book': cron is your friend. Anacron

Web-based shared calendar synchronizable with Outlook
Hi,
I know this request is a a little off-topic but may be interesting for
dovecot users (at least i hope!)
Does anybody has already had an experience with a calendar sharing
solution including a webcalendar and an outlook connector, "compatible"
with dovecot ?
Today, there are many projects aiming to be a "M$ Exchange Killer" (such
as Zimbra, OBM, open-exchange, etc) but

...milar problems with other USB based UPS units.
My rig is a nForce2 based AthlonXP running Gentoo w/ kernel 2.6.14.
dmesg shows nothing unusual. The output is after unpluging the USB
cable to get udev to add the new /dev/ups entry and trying to load the
ups driver. The unit's USB is working as Bulldog works fine under
windows.

Anyone got a copy of File_Column trunk
Anyone able to post a copy of the svn trunk of file_column? The
website''s been down for the past few days, and I''ve only got the last
release (0.31, I think), which is missing a whole load of goodies.

couple questions about supported UPSes and politics of purchase
a customer of mine needs a UPS capable of supporting a small server in his
office. Obviously, nut is a good thing for him for clean shutdown etc.
especially with the crappy quality power in his office condo.
I wanted to purchase an MGE UPS but it looks like they purchased APC and are now
flogging that product line. Now, I've never been happy with APC. I have an APC

[LLVMdev] optimization assumes malloc return is non-null
...calls to malloc() may be executed out of order by a
conforming implementation, but I suspect that goes well beyond the
cleverness of the current LLVM implementation. It's the sort of thing
that the VAX/VMS optimizer or the IBM PL.8 research optimizer might
actually have done. And certainly the Bulldog optimizer.
