Custom Debian package bulding
Hi
I am using Debian source packages from http://xi.rename-it.nl/debian/.
When downloading dependencies, I have seen that the package requires
MySQL, that I don't use. How could I remove this dependency or chanage
them? Is that defined in any file?
However, I would like to use SQLite or Postgres to store dict data for
the Expire plugin. Where should I enable these flags?
Thanks.

Hello!
I have writen some subrutines in Free-form Fortran. I would like to includ
them in a package, which I would like to build on WinXP. I have all
suggested tools/programs for bulding R packages on Windows (except latex).
What is the best way of using these subrutines? Does sombody mybe know any
translation tools for converting Free-form to fixed-form Fortran?
Thanks for any suggestions,

I read that the memory overflow comes from bulding the checksums list.
Is there a way to find out where in the file tree that overflow occurs

The OS is Debian 7.4 amd, 24 GB RAM, 32 GB swap.

"parallelizing" the two initial phases?

it seems impossible for me to share this aspect with all the other server

So, my question (indeed more, a wish): wouldn't it be possible to start
bulding both databases in parallel, or shortly after each other?
Cheers -e

long startup times for large file systems
Howdy,
Rsync has been churning away for 45 mins, presumably bulding an in-core
list of files to be copied to the destination. This is a very very large
filesystem we are copying locally - approximately 4.2million files
(WebCT). The resident process size for rsync has grown to 72Mb. - is
this normal behaviour for a file system this size, and does rsync have...

I nabbed the compat-gnutls from there, along with the compat-nettle
tools, to resolve dependencies on RHEL 7 for my buld tools. My work
uses separate RPM building tools for libtalloc, libtevent, etc. rather
than the internal libraries, for maximum upgrade bugfix and feature
compatibility for *other* Samba development tools on the system. I
can understand why RHEL has not updated gnutls for compatibility with

To be honest, I don't think most people will want to merge domains, but

I think I already said that.

You can also get rid of some of the old ways of doing things (using the
RID as a Unix ID for one).

Qt client with rails? Does it make sense?
Hi,
A quick question from a beginner: does it make sense to build the UI of a rails application with Qt, instead of bulding a web application? The idea would be to reuse parts of rails (like ActiveRecords) to write the logic on the server, and build the (complex) UI faster, with a client-based framework.
On the client, ruby *could* be used too, since QtRuby exists.
Your reactions are more than welcome!

Rmysql linking to an old-ish mysql build
...-bit.
I have the latest build of mysql installed (mysql-5.1.34-winx64).
When trying to load Rmysql, I got a warning that Rmysql is linking to an
old-ish mysql build (5.0.67).
I could do some basic stuff (the connection works) but it breaks when
trying to read a large table.
So I set up to use the buld 5.0.67 that Rmysql likes.
10 hrs later and after lots of sysadmin work, I have to call it quits. I
couldn't make it work.
Since this mysql 5.0.67 is pretty old, I was wondering if anyone has
binaries for Rmysql that work for a more recent version.
Maybe the authors of the package have plans t...

accessing foreign AD users to NT domain

As just discussed in this list, while 'classicupgrade' is clearly the
main path for a migration, pose some glitches.
- there's no 'merge' of multiple domains
- it is a go/no go tool, there's no way back.
So bulding a new domain is a, surely, longer path, but, at least for
me, smoothest one.

All other cronjobs, like rsync for Group Policies are all working fine,

In a way i am curious about "executable = lmtp -L" part. What is -L

read all the docs that come with the buld and mention something of lmtp,
it's basically wiki, i guess... but i could not find any helpful info.
I found that file lmtp is at /usr/local/libexec/dovecot/lmtp. When i
execute it with -L flag it works. Other flags don't. The problem is that
there are no -h or --help flags.

Of crucial importance is to buld dovecot with GSSAPI! That is NOT one of the default settings.

accessing foreign AD users to NT domain
Hi all, I'm planning to migrate a NT domain to a AD domain. Someone

PC to the new AD domain. This way the migration should be flawlessly

I read Hadley's book on bulding R Packages (

it quite complicated and time consuming to build one. Thus I did not try

So, in a higly scalable configuration:
